The advices that I would provide parents or students to choose the college that shows great potential in academics, diversity, and find a school that will respect your relgious background. Please allow the financial aspects be considered in your pick. Spend time browsing schools that have faculty and professors who really care about each student. Determine how the payments each semester are going to be paid by help from the financial advicers at the school you are going to. Please do not make any payments late because interests will make it go higher. Spend time learning about the school, by internet, students, and even some faculty members. See how the school is involved with community. Do not just visualize what it is going to be like. Do not do what I did. Come to the school and see the environment. Ask questions to really get to know what the campus experience is like. If you are involved in arts, science, sports, and etc. Go check out the programs of clubs, events, and activities that the school provides. The important advice that I got from my parents was to find a school that has students that I can get along with.

College is a place where you can be yourself. Take part in all or most of the student activities on campus and you will make many friends and memories. Have a strong school pride and do well in your classes. Even if you do not know what you want to do career-wise after college, take classes that interest you and you will eventually find your answer. It is especially important, though, to get the most out of your college expereince, both academically and socially.

Something I learned from being at a conservative Christian college while I am agnostic is that it is good to be surrounded by worldviews that are different than your own. Growth takes place when you are personally challenged, and students should not only go to college to get a degree or to learn information, but also to grow as people. Make sure that what you are majoring in will really be helpful to getting a job, even if that means going to extra mile. For example, I am a TESL (Teacher of English as a Second Language), and with my major, I can either take the easy route of not getting a teaching license or take the harder one of getting the teaching license. Keep all opportunities open for yourself to succeed.

It is so important to pick the right college. Each college has its own feel and atmosphere. I think it is important to talk to students that are currently attending the college and hear their opinions on it. I also think it is important to make the most of the time you spend at college. Even if you in the beginning are not happy or dont like it make sure you ready try it out before giving up. College in my opinion is all what you make of it. You can have an amazing time and make great friends if you put yourself out there and get involved. Activities and friends dont always find you. Sometimes you have to get out there and find them.

Be sure that a student is ready to accept responsibility for their tiem management skills, and that the campus is not just a place to learn but a place to engage in life activities in order to better facilitate the life of the student after they leave.

When deciding a college make sure you look well into the school to see what is required of as a student. Many times students have come to school and realized it was not what they thoguht it would be. Also budget well so that all your needs and expenses can be met throughout the year. It's essential to find out if the school has your child's major and whatever other elements you all feel is important for a school to have such as housing, student life, location, and demographics). A person's college experience is whatever they make it; only he or she can form the best years of hisor her life. Always remember that education is the reason for college, everything else is extra, because it is easy to get distracted. Finally the number one thing to do to choose the right school and have the best college experience is to stay prayed up and focused on God. Whether you believe in him or not, you'll need Him.
