What should every freshman at Liberty University know before they start?

Choosing a college is one of the biggest choices a young adult gets to make. I would tell the student to choose a school that first offers the major that they are interested in. If the student has a dream school that is expensive, I think they should strive to go there any way. One never knows what scholarships, grants, or pure luck they might run into. For example Liberty University is a private and expensive institution, but it offers my major, supports my work-study, has extra-curricular activities, and most importantly instills Christianity which is an important aspect in my life, so I strive to keep finding funding to stay there. If a student or parent has no idea where to start, I say just visit! Universities all over the nation offer free tours which will help you learn a little more about what you're ultimately looking for. In the end a student will know in their heart where they need to be in order to grow in their studies and make that next step into the business world.

God has a plan for your life. Whether you believe in Him or not, it doesn't change the fact that He has a plan for your life. As crazy as it sounds, you will never be satisfied with your life until you're doing what He destined you to do- in fact, He made whatever "it" is your passion and number one desire (interesting how it works, isn't it?). Anyway, my point is that if you don't surrender your life to Him, including your school choice, you're going to be unhappy wherever you go. Maybe not miserable, but not content. My recommendation? Pray. Just ask Him to come into your life and help you. It'll change your whole outlook on things. Promise. Oh, and by the way, happy choosing!

The most important thing in looking for a college is finding one that fits your individual needs. Not only is it important to find a school that has the major that interests you, but you also need to find somewhere that you can fit in well and spend time with people that you enjoy. Once you've started school, it is important to find a balance between your social life and acedemics. Some people spend way too much time having fun and do terrible in school, while others spend all their time doing work and never get out to do things. You need to find ways that you can get everything done without sacrificing your life.

I feel like Liberty University was the best pick for me because I wanted to go to a school based on Christ- centered values. The school I chose is very encouraging to complete my degree while also getting fed spiritually. You would need to pick a school that feels comfortable. When you find the campus that's right something about it just feels right.

College to me so far, has been an experience like no other. When i first arrived as a freshman I thought Liberty was a huge summer camp, but as I realized that it was not and that there was work to be done, the professors and advisors of Liberty University have been nothing short of amazing. They will set aside what they are doing for the opportunity to help one of their students. Our religion department is unmatched in quality and anyone interested in this field should strongly consider Liberty University as the best choice for them. Even if you have been accepted at other schools, give Liberty a chance. They might not be the most well known, but they are the best when it comes to the things that matter in college. As far as I am concerned finding the right college is finding Liberty, once you get here you will never regret your decision.

There are three easy steps when looking for a college. First, determine what you want to get out of college. Go into college knowing what you want to do with life. Then second determine what kind of environment you work the best in. If you know a party atmosphere will draw you away from your studies then go to a college that doesn't allow it. Third, determine if your beliefs match up with the schools mission. If you end up at a school which has too many rules in your eyes then you will probably end up hating the school. So actually read the mission statement. Good luck college searching!

I would tell them to weigh their options very carefully. Consider what the student wants to do with their life, and make college choices based on what would help them achieve their life goals. Be sure that the college will be compatible with the student's personality, that it is somewhere the student will want to attend for years to come. Choose a college that cares about the student and offers considerable academic and financial assistance. Most of all, though, choose a college that will provide an enjoyable experience. After all, the student will spend four years living there. May as well have some fun, right? To make the most of the college experience, go to social events provided by the university. Football games, poetry readings, whatever the student is interested in. Don't be a hermit and stay in the room all of the time. It doesn't bode well, trust me. My life is much better since I came out of my room and started going to games and fun activities. You meet more people that way, and you may even make some good friends. College is about study, yes, but an active social life is very benefitial.

Finding the right college is extremely important. College life is not only about academics but it is a growing process where life lessons are learned. While choosing a college, I would encourage others to look at not only the academics that the college has to offer in his/her field, but also to look at the morals and regulations of the school. Get to know what the college stands for and whether or not you are in agreement with all of its beliefs. Once you are attending the school of choice, seek to get involved in some way. Make friends and enjoy the campus and facilities of the chosen college.

The advice i would give to students and parents about finding the right college is really find out what really matters to you in making the most of the college experience. Take in all options such as future goals, career goals and any other interests you may expect to experience during your college life. Prepare ahead and actually plan visits to potential colleges to see first hand the enviroment. Try new things whether it be new hobby or activity, it's good to braoden your horizons and be optimistic about new experiences and opportunities.
