What should every freshman at Liberty University know before they start?

Christian

There are plenty of fine learning institutions in America. Even some community colleges can provide a good education. It really depends on the student being proactive about learning and ultimately learning how to learn. I would tell them to pick a college that will help facilitate this best. Also, to find one with a student body that would encourage social interaction. I've learned more from friends and people with different viewpoints outside of class than in class. College is so much more than good teachers, material, and prestige. It's about personal formation. I would say, "Find a shcool that will allow for a positive social life, pro-active learning, and personal formation." As a Christ-follower, I would encourage other Christ-followers to pray about it as well.

Go with your gut instinct regarding the right school for you. If you're at the wrong school, you will hate every second and that's not what the experience is about.

Don't go to a school just because all your friends go there. Also, give out of state colleges a shot; it may be expensive, but it will be worth every penny as long as you keep a positive attitude and don't feel like you were dumped off at an out of state college. That was my mindset when I was dropped off at LU. I was so angry and felt like I had been abandoned, but I grew onto the school and found friends that I will keep for a lifetime and enjoyed my stay at school.

A student should try to find a college that will support what he wishes to accomplish. He should pick a college that agrees with his worldview and will support his goals in life. A college with good extracurricular activities as well as with academic support is something to consider. Once in college, a student should strive to socialize with people on his dorm as well as in his classes. The student shoud also strive to do his best academically and not be afraid to ask for assitance from professors. A student should never give up on himself and continually work towar his degree.

Finding the right college is very importnant. The advice I would give to parents and students is to find the the best collge that will help the student excel. It is very important have a school in which you feel comfortable enough in and to keep up in to graduate and do your best in. I attend Liberty University and I feel right at home. This school has helped me in so many ways. Its a struggle right now because of the hard classes I have but its the perfect fit. The perfect fit is what you want to go for. You want to find a college that not only satifies you academically but socially and career wise. First find a college where you can get the career you want after graduation so you can accomplish what you want in life. Also socially because networking is the key, and everyone needs good friends in college to help you out. In conclusion find the school that fits all your needs. This will make all the difference in your college career.
