Learning how to provide for myself has perhaps been my biggest lesson thus far. I went from standing in my parents shadow to stepping out and handling affairs on my own. My college experience has been challenging but extremely rewarding. I am in a great place in my life where I can balance the carefreeness of my youth and the independence of my adulthood. College is a great place to grow and learn more about yourself and the people you want to surround yourself with.

When I first entered college I considered daily the value and utility that my education held for me. I felt that receiving a reputable degree in my field would afford me rewards that would be unattainable through any other source. I was right, but I was wrong to care. It was valuable for me to attend college, but it was more valuable to my community than it was to me. I believe that if more people were willing to acknowledge the social value of education before the individual use-value that learning would be taken more seriously. To be fair, a number of things occured for me personally, the values of which I can't deny. I was exposed to several brilliant professors. I was challenged by strong peers in my field of study. I was even forced to reconsider a number of beliefs I held strongly before enrolling. Nonetheless, I met a number of individuals who were more interested in partying than learning, and others who were attending college so that they could earn more money later. This is not would college is about. My college experience was valuable because learning is intrinsically valuable for me and the community.

The experience that I got out of my college Middle Georgia College is the small classes and the nice teachers who are always willing to help and go the extra to make sure you understand what they are throwing at you. The food is fantastic because we have a good variety of food and drinks and lets not mention its a buffet YUM... The bonuses are the dorms, you have your own room with a good size bed, desk, vanity, and you share a bathroom. Its just so great because im not to far from home, but im not that close to where my parents they can bother me but their close enough to when I need them their there. But all in all I love my college because it is so homely and I feel so safe and that I actually belong.

I have gotten much more than just an education based experience in my three years of attending Arizona State University. I have learned many new things about myself and what I am capable of doing individually. I have gained ample experience working as an effective member of a team in the many group projects I have done and those newfound skills will be a huge asset when I land a job after graduating. Three years of taking college courses has helped me improve my personal discipline and especially my time management skills. I have also met a lot of great people from all over the country and even the world and I feel that this has had a very positive impact on my perception and ability to understand others that appear to be much different than me. I have made several lifelong friends in my time at Arizona State and living on campus for two years and off it for one has been a wonderful learning experience. Being a part of a campus as large and unique as Arizona State's is something that cannot be replaced and I will cherish these memories for the rest of my life.

Before college I was at one of the lowest points in my life. I had been laid off from my job, recovering from a massive ankle fracture, and barely getting by on unemployment. I came to a point where I realized that enough is enough and that if I ever wanted to be successful in life I really needed to obtain a four year degree. My college experience has proven to be valuable to me because my education is something that I can always fall back on. Regardless of the current economic state, I know that my education will be something that I can always fall back on. No employer anywhere can take that away from me.

I have learned that without a college degree you wont make more than minimum wage out of this society. Times is tough and everything in life is getting expensive and you never afford to live the expensive lavish life without a college degree. Everything you learn in school will in some type of way benefit you if its just math or english it all plays a major part. As a child i never knew what i will become in life but all of my teachers and counselors never pushed me into anything they was always there step by step in every decisions that i`ve made. Some students don`t attend college because their scared about the school work and their afraid of not passing all of their classes but if you stay focused and don`t let anyone distract you or discourage you from your dreams theres always something out there for you to achieve. I am a full time student and yes its complicated but i know that everything will pay off for me. Also, internship is something that will get you prepared for real situations in your careerfield. Stay in school and you will get rewarded trust.
