Is the stereotype of students at Emerson College accurate?

Amanda

Are they true? Well, I like to think that for the most part we are all unqiue. The thing about emerson students is they embrass liberal ideas but are not open minded enough to take in other ideas that exist outside their own. Not all of them are like this, but for the most part they are liberal because of their ideals and not their excuteion of considering ideals. Emerson is most definitely a non-party school. Some students atempt it, but the school is strict and they definitely get caught. Many of the new students have moved off campus for this reason. The fact it they never party during the week, weekends only. And I do not know how in the world they do it. The semetser is so damanding that maybe I'll go out to have a drink with a friend once a month (I am 22 and am old enough to do so). The students here are hard working individuals. An emersonain is more likely to be a canabus smoker than a heavy drinker. And no one in the WLP has time for either.

Well, not everybody is gay... and most of the pretentious kids have the knowledge to back up their attitude.

Kim

No. Some people do have money but not everyone. A lot of people think that the parents are buying their kids education, but thats not true. Also, not everyone is gay... and there are some trendy people. People also think taht the kids that "didn't have friends in hs" go here...not true. there are no freaks or geeks here. We're just liberal and thats the way we work...we are open to everyone.

Tristan

Yes

Dylan

All of these stereotypes are accurate, but there are many students who don't fit these stereotypes also.

Jay

Sometimes, other times it turns out you actually ARE one.

Tristan

There are a lot of persons here whose dress could accurately be described in that fashion, yes. As for the other, sometimes unpleasant, connotations of these words, I don't know.

Blake

Not all of us are gay! Not all of us smoke! Many of us graduate and become successful! So what if we're not too good at math? We are willing to push the limits and we are creative and artistic!

Andy

The majority of students fit this stereotype but, of course, there are exceptions. However, there's more diversity in sexual orientation at Emerson than people think. When I first came to Emerson, I thought there would be absolutely no straight guys, and that's not true.

Sierra

yeah pretty much.
