What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Dear Keshia,
This is a letter that you need to read before you leave for school this semester. Open up those books and go to work! Nothing can defeat and overcome your will and power to learn--not even teachers and difficult reading assignments. Push through. Only you can uncover your deep desire to learn, finish school, and continue achieving your dreams. Please do not listen to your high school classmates. They do not have the experience to help you make the decisions that weigh so heavily on your future. Use trusted sources, school counselors and a college catalog can go a long way in helping you to break through that freshman glass ceiling. Hear with your ears, see with your eyes. Sink into and allow yourself the privilege to fully immerse into your only college experience. A promise of many golden opportunities awaits; I know I can do it!
Love,
Keshia

Describe the students at your school.
Attending a community college has allowed the possibility to communicate with older adults; the traditional university setting is somewhat boxed in.; what I mean by that is, the students who attend the traditional universities are around the ages of seventeen to about twenty two or so; some of the students I met are in their mid to late twenties; even some were in their thirties or forties and that did not bother me one bit; seeing as they were older than me, they shared a lot of interesting stories with me; from these experiences, my classmates are amazing!

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
I feel that the worst truth I could tell about Prince Georges Community College is that they do not provide a nurturing environment where students can learn and grow. When students really need help from the advisers or registrar they just hit them with roadblocks and unrealistic rules. They do not offer alternatives or sugesstions to help with each students' questions or concerns. The college just seems like a bank that only takes deposits-- the students are not reaping any benefits from the relationship if they cannot register for the classes that they need.

What kind of person should not attend this school?
i would advise anyone who can afford to go to a four college to come to PGCC because it takes longer when come to this school to acheive what you want. it takes longer because my experience here is that, they do not plan the semesters for you like a four year instution does. you go with your own pace and for me i don't think that is a good idea for individuals who do not have that much responsibilities yet.
