Pikes Peak Community College is a great place to find diversity and work alongside students from all walks of life. The array of classes offered allows students to be able to become more concentrated on a specific topic of interest while also completing all college course requirements for graduation. I highly encourage students to complete their associate degree at Pikes Peak Community College before transferring to a 4-year college to complete their bachelor's degree.

Pikes Peak is a good college for their tuition rates—nothing overtly prestigious or amazing—but it isn't a bad college either. Their merits come mostly from their large class selection, online options, and multiple campuses around Colorado Springs. The teachers that I personally had were good, but it seems the overall rating of faculty is mixed, both from websites like Rate My Professor and from things I have heard from friends and other students. Academics are as you would expect for a community college, even if they now hold the title of state college instead, because the curriculum is set by the professors, not by the college, so the difficulty and quality of the class will differ depending on what instructor you get. Overall, PPSC is a college meant for those who are on a budget but still seeking good academics and general education.

This is my first time in college, so I don’t have much to compare it with. It’s no Hogwarts, but magic does happen. I started in August, trying to think of it as another year of high school. 3 months later I don’t feel like a school kid any more. My opinion matters here and my choices are not dictated by adults. The classes are interesting enough to make me look forward to them every week, and I am making friends!

I feel like it’s a good place to be. Though I’ve had my fair share of bad professors the support system is fantastic . If you need a tutor immediately there is in readily available, reaching out to the dean for an issue is really accessible which is a big help if you have a complaint!

Pikes Peak Community College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Pikes Peak Community College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Pikes Peak Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Time management has to be one of the most important aspects of success in college. Scheduling study times throughout the week may help with time management. It's' also a good idea to make self-imposed deadlines for assignments as well. At times, it can feel like there is plenty of time outside of the classroom to get things complete, but without structure and time lines, many assignments are not given their full attention in order to achieve good grades. Most importantly, I believe that it would be a benefit to most students to find someone who actually has a job that he/she is trying to achieve by getting their college degree. Nothing can be more valuable than real, lifetime, experiences. Knowing what is required of a profession, can inspire any student to either pursue their education with passion or to search for an alternative route that will bring lasting success.
