What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
The advise that i would give to parents and students about finding the right college and making the most of it would be to test a lot of different colleges out and see which one fits the best before making your final decision. Visiting college campuses may take some time, but in the end it is more than worth it. Also, once you have decided on a particular college, be open to doing a variety of activites that you may never have even had an interest in before. If you live in the Dorm Rooms, leave your door open and go into other people's rooms as well. You may meet your new best friend in the most unlikely of ways. Volunteer and get involved with as many groups as possible and try them all at least twice. Do not believe people when they say that everyone is doing something, so you must also. That is a stupid lie and not everyone is doing things that their parents would disapprove of. There are plenty of groups to join on campus that will afford you great opportunities without making you compromise on your beliefs.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst aspect of my school is its reputation as a less academic alternative to larger schools in nearby cities. I always feel as if I am judged for my choice in universities. The fact that this university does not accomodate as many students does not detract from its academic rigor. Due to the nearby universities having larger reputations, this university is often overlooked.

Describe the students at your school.
My classmates are all various. They all tend to have different opinons about a lot of different subjects. Some things we agree on and some stuff we don't. None the less I still respect them as people and understand that everyone is allowed their own opinion. I can not singlely describe them all with one word because they are all too different to form into one category. However, in each class we talk and that is how I learn just how different everyone is.

People who are looking for a degree in engineering or law; this school is a great school for business, nursing, and education. If you want a big school good for agriculture or medicine or engineering, the other schools in Colorado are world class. UNC is good for all races and religions, the town may not be, but the school is very open-minded from my experiences.

What are the academics like at your school?
The academics at UNC depend on the type of student you are. If you work to get good grades then you will have no problem at UNC, but if you don't care about your academics then you will not enjoy all of the things UNC has to offer. The class sizes tend to not be too large, which makes it easier for you to form a connection with your professors. The professors tend to know your name, and work with you if you need help. They do a great job of offering help outside of class, which is very nice. I tend to study a lot because grades have always been important to me, but once again it depends on the type of student you are. UNC has made it very easy for me to establish relationships with my professors because they genuinely care about each and every one of their students.

My overall opinion of UNC is that it is a great university. I love being a student at UNC because of multiple things. UNC's campus is so beautiful. The old and new buildings all around campus are so pretty to look at. There are so many people at UNC too. I enjoy all the people I have met, and the friendships that I have formed. The size of UNC is just right for me. It is not to big nor to small, it is the perfect size for a university. I am so glad I made the decision to attend UNC because I have come to love the campus and the university.

What are the most popular student activities/groups?
The most popular groups on campus are the residence halls and the Greeks. These two social groups contain what I estimate as nearly 85{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the entire student body.
In the residence halls your floor will have twenty people or more that you can get acquainted with. Since I moved into the dorms, I have become friends with about twenty people in my dorm, not to mention ten more friends in the dorm I used to live in across the way; four of those friends are my best friends. I met many of my friends just by walking through their open doors and talking to them. Now, my floor and I go to the basketball games together and sometimes an assembly where a guest speaker is presenting. The residence halls will be a great place for you to meet new people and find best friends.
The Greeks are a great place to meet people you wouldn't normally see in your dorm. There are many different kinds of Greeks at UNC including normal Greeks, major oriented Greeks, and multicultural Greeks. A lot of college parties are held at the frat houses such as delta chi or delta tau delta. The fraternities and sororities are a big part of campus life; however, they are not the most important aspect of campus life.
Each year UNC has various fund raisers. For example, in March, UNC hosts relay for life to raise money for cancer patients. There are also various student run fundraisers that differ from year to year.
There are quaint activities that you can do with your friends. For example, last weekend I had a Start Wars movie marathon with my roommate and friends, then, we played Call of Duty (COD) for a couple hours. At 2:00am we ordered calzones from our local college restaurant DP Dough. Weekends like that make me appreciate being independent in college.
Come and visit UNC and find your own favorite activities.

What is the stereotype of students at your school?
There are 2 stereotypes at UNC; one is good, the other bad. Before I convey these stereotypes, I will specify that both ate not 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} accurate as there is great diversity among students at UNC.
The good stereotype for students at our school is that we are just a school for teachers, nurses, and theater majors. This stereotype just outlines the biggest majors here, but there are many other excellent programs at UNC such as our business program and our linguistic program.
The bad stereotype for students at our school is that we are stupid. Some call us the "University of No Choice" (UNC). This stereotype The main reason this stereotype exists is the freshman class graduation rate is 49{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c}; this is definitely not a good rate. In fact, I'd say it is quite terrible. To explain this graduation rate phenomenon, I'd like to embellish on the types of students who don't graduate. Many students who don't graduate from UNC either don't have the funds to go to UNC for all four years or transfer to other schools before their senior year.

Describe a typical weekend.
A typical at UNC depends on the kind of person you are. I am going to review the four most common weekends:
1) Partier
The partier will go to one or more of the 5 to 10 parties being held that weekend. He will pre-game in the dorms (which is against the rules) then go out to the DD's car to begin the parties. The parties will be packed and will be blasting music. The night will usually be over from 12:00 am to 3:00am. He may or may not make it back to the dorms.
2) Studious
The studious student will bring his friends to the library and have a group study session for a couple of hours. The evening will then move to the dorms where a philosophical discussion may take place or a movie may be watched. The night will usually be over from 10:00pm to 1:00am. He will probably be sleeping in his bed.
3) Gamer
The gamer will play video games with his friends or alone almost all night. DP Dough and/or pizza will be ordered to settle rumbling stomachs. The evening will be spent sitting on a couch and will usually be over from 11:00pm to 5:00am. He will either be in his own bed or on the couch.
4) Chiller
The Chiller will hang out with his friends all night and might go clubbing at Whiskey River or Sky. He might smoke hookah at Istanbul or just play board games with his friends. The evening will be over from 11:00pm to 4:00am and he will go to sleep in his bed.
