What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back, I would tell myself, "Make good choices NOW. Turn your head up high and don't be prideful but be confident. The habits that you make for yourself will affect you every single day of your life and college is ten times harder than you imagine it. I know you are so ready to be out of here, out of high school altogether but I promise you that learning well now WILL benefit you in the end. I remember being you and thinking I knew what the future held for me and yet now I know that I may as well know nothing because the world will alter and I will alter with it. Never doubt yourself yet doubt everything because that is how you will learn. Trust in the eternal and question the current. Most important of all though, allow yourself to follow only what you know to be right."

Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
Linked with the other community colleges in Colorado online, with some very capable professors and a broad spectrum of classes, pitched toward transferring to a four-year institution but boasting an encouraging percentage of associate graduates, this is one of the best community colleges I have encountered, and the online option opens so many opportunities and impressively qualified professors that it should never be dismissed by any Front Range students as a way to pursue an education there.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The students that are going there don't seem to care about their education. Some do, but I never seem to find anybody near to me that does. It's sad, because I want to go to school to learn, but when people around me do not have the same intentions, it makes it hard for me to get everything that I want to get out of my education experience.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I just transferred from university of Colorado to Front range in Westminster, so far I think it was the best decision I have made. I say this because not only is it cheaper, but there financial aid department is great unlike University of Colorado?s. I also like that the classes are smaller so you get more one on one with your professor which leads into better grades. I really think I?m going to succeed at Front range.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
In the summer I've been awarded the privilege of attending University of Colorado at Boulder. One of the reasons I chose to apply to the school was the vast amount of clubs I can join. The most frustrating thing about Front Range is the fact the they don't have very many clubs. The college experience is about meeting life long friends and doing so by joining clubs or being involved in intramurals.

What are the academics like at your school?
Front Range Community College is a great school that offers several opportunities to further my education. The instructors and staff are well equipped with the knowledge and life experience to lead students to their designated and desired degrees. It is refreshing to go to class and learn so much and feel so good about comprehending what you’re going to class for. Advisers make much effort to get students on the right track and encourage students to pursue higher learning.
My favorite classes have been American Sign Language. The instructor is very knowledgeable of what it takes to be an excellent interpreter and goes above and beyond to help students learn.
Our class participation is high, students show up with work in hand. It's good to see students enthusiastic about their studies. I am interested in perusing a degree as an interpreter and Art major. I am an older adult who is reinventing myself and perusing the education I could not do when I was younger. It's great to be part of the Arts program and go to concerts, plays and opera's where the teacher is actually performing, or holding a tutoring session. Such as practicing sign language at a coffee shop or restaurant.

What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
I have only encountered a stereotype once this semester and that was someone asking me if I worked here to clean the bathroom. I don't know what brought this on, but I believe a soft answer turns away anger.
