Milwaukee School of Engineering is an elite academic University for engineering. They do offer a nursing school and business school but that is not the main focus. When you walk through the halls of the different educational facilities and different engineering disciplines you can see meaningful projects that the students have worked on, whether it be a building, a computer program, a robot, or a revolutionary health care device, there is always something new being developed by the brilliant students at Milwaukee School of Engineering. If you want to go to a school that has practical applications for what you learn in the classes, Milwaukee School of Engineering is your place.

Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) is a really good school. They take academics very seriously and if you ever need help there are so many resources out there. The school provides counseling services, health services, public safety, tutoring, an academic advisor, and so much more. If you need to talk to your professor there is always office hours or you could message them on Teams and they will always reply back. When you live on campus or apartment buildings near the school and you do not feel like staying in your room, MSOE is an open campus and there is a lot to do. Besides all the on campus events, Metro market and Pick N' Save are just a block away. The Historic Third Ward, Vagabond, and other shop and restaurants are really close to the school, so there is plenty to do. If you do not fell like walking very far then there is a bus system that you will need to buy a bus pass for or you could ride on the Hop to get somewhere. Overall, MSOE is really diverse and is an amazing school to go to.

The school is wonderful and the professors are great. They will go to bat for students. They have a diverse student body. There are opportunities for internships which I appreciate. Also they have technology apart of the curriculum. Not every student has money for computers or software updates so having the school maintain the product was very smart.

Brianna - 04/09/2019

I enjoyed my time at MSOE. It is well known for its degrees because it has very high expectations for its students. The class sizes and easy access to study help and professors made the work load manageable. One downfall of MSOE would be the inability for most students to undergraduate research. Senior design filled this gap pretty well for me though.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I'd go back to Sophmore year in high school and continually get on myself about accurately planning a budget on how much school really is going to cost, and fill out more scholarships then and over the 2 years following that. Not filling out every scholarship that I could caused alot of trouble later on. If I had done this maybe I wouldn't have been so stressed and had come close to not having the funds at all.

Having the cnofidence of finding a job when i graduate means a lot to me, and to many others attending this school. The trimester system is used, so students are able to start major oriented courses right away, and see that it is the field they would like to do, and obtain a career in that field, inlike many other colleges, whose tracks are filled with genereal classes, and not major oriented.
