Milwaukee School of Engineering Top Questions

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about Milwaukee School of Engineering?

Traci

Everyone on campus is really nice and helpful. The school cares about its undergraduates much more than bigger universities. It's like my home away from home - I feel like I belong.

Kayla

Recently, the elecrical engineering program was just ranked 7th in the nation. It was a slight ego boost for many within this program. It also has the best of both worlds. Its a small school that is located in downtown of a large city.

Amber

That we are a eleven week program and they shouldn't complain about not going our or getting sleep. I also tell them about how cool the school is with helping everyone out.

Jake

How fast pace and challenging it is which keeps me focused on learning and allows me to actually learn more efficently becasue i fell more pressure to succeed and accomplish my goals.

Emily

This school is very demanding. It takes a lot of hard work. Our job placement rates are extremely good. We are known for our outstanding graduates. We have great national exam pass rates also.

When I meet people in the area, simply telling them that i attend MSOE is enough said. People who are aware of MSOE's credentials understand that it is a very challenging school and you must excel academically to keep up with its requirements. When I explain my school to others from a different area, I tend to tell them that MSOE is a very friendly place that is located in the city.

For the past years since I have been at MSOE they have boasted over a 97{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} placement rating for graduating seniors in the program that I am majoring in. In other programs they have recorded 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} placement ratings in previous years. Employers in the midwest love anyone with an engineering degree from MSOE and are even willing to gather students for internships during the summers (I even had an internship right away after my freshman year). It's a very tough and introverted school (not very exciting), but the rewards for getting a degree are unbelievable.

How I live in the heart of downtown Milwaukee where there is always exciting events going on related to the arts, sports, or entertainment. The city is packed with wonderful restaurants and bars for adults to enjoy the night scene. Plus there are two other campuses, Marquette and University of Wisconsin-Miwaukee, each located about 2 miles west and north respectively from our school, so there is never a dull moment.....especially once you turn 21 and are allowed to enjoy the downtown night life.

I will get a good job when I graduate, because my school has a 95{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} placement rate in the field of interest and $48,000 average starting salary.
