My opinion of Carthage College is that it is overall a great school with an amazing view of Lake Michigan. It has good housing for upperclassmen and traditional dorms for underclassmen. The fine arts program is amazing. The Christmas Festival they have every year is just outstanding to watch.

I think it's a great college, but for the pice there are better options. I have always wanted to go to a bug state college until I went to Carthage. it changed me and how I wanted my college experience to be. After finding out the price, it was clear that Carthage just wasn't for me.

I have enjoyed Carthage College in my first year! We have some good sports teams that are fun to watch and tons of performances. The smaller classes allow for more intimate conversations between professors and peers in and out of class. It's been helpful to know that my professors know what kind of student I am, not just a face in their class. The campus itself is smaller but pretty homey. There's a downtown area about a mile from campus; however, I wish there was an easier way for students to get there. Carthage is also a 30-45 minute drive from downtown Milwaukee, and Chicago isn't much farther. The activities board also hosts many events for students and takes plenty of trips off campus to see sporting events, concerts, musicals, and more at great prices. The campus sits on Lake Michigan, allowing for beautiful scenery when studying or taking walks on the beach.

I think that Carthage College is a wonderful school filled with great opportunities and kind people. The class sizes and accessibility to professors ensure that students are maximizing their academic opportunities. They have plenty of options for on-campus jobs as well as internships through nearby companies. They have a beautiful campus and overall good vibes!

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

    From my college experiences, i have discovered a new person inside myself. I was able to discover new interests and a giant door of opportunities while going to college. Attending college and pursuing education is of course beneficial because my goal of becoming a teacher/educator and making a difference in young teens and adult lives can only be justified by educating myself. From college, I have become more open and found my true calling, education. If I did not explore the college environment, I would have not found what my true joy is and a career fit for myself. The college experience has helped me out in so many ways and is still a tool and a journey to complete. The two years I have spent in college have been the fastest, yet the most valuable years in my life. It is at this crucial time that I will be making decisions that affect my entire life in the future. That is why I believe college is right now the most important priority in my life. It has opened my eyes and ears and has made me a more rational, mature, and confident person for the future.

    The people are the best part of Carthage. Everyone is very friendly and caring. The professors want you to succeed and do their best to help you be successful. The students will become your best friends. Even people you don't know will show you kindness by holding open the door, even if you are still 10 feet away.

    The worst kind of person to attend my school would be someone who doesn't want to be active in any way. I found that the way to be successful at my school is to be active, not only in the classroom but also when it comes to meeting people and making friends. Most people leave this school because they don't go to class or because they don't make any real friends.

    Many of the instructors in my field (Musical Theatre) are either well known or have accomplished much in the field. I believe the staff here is very talented and well rounded.

TUITION & AID

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
