I love the smaller size and atmosphere. It helps foster intellectual conversations and learning and allows for personal relationships with professors and classmates. Overall, I love Meredith, but certain aspects of campus like the dorms and dining hall are lacking.

Kiara - 12/23/2023

I love Meredith College. It's such a friendly space, and all the people you will meet will always be willing to help. It is a women's school with security, always making sure we are safe. The food is okay, but the staff is amiable. Right now, I am in work study and they make the process so easy and the flexible schedules make it so i can quickly go to class and have a social life. The professors are friendly, and most are available to help even after office hours.

Meredith College is a safe space for women. The campus is free from harassment and discrimination, and the students, faculty, and staff are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment. One of the things that makes Meredith such a safe space is its small size. With just over 1,500 undergraduate students, everyone knows everyone else. This creates a sense of community and belonging that is hard to find at larger schools. Another reason why Meredith is a safe space is its focus on women's empowerment. The college offers a variety of programs and resources that help women develop their leadership skills and reach their full potential.

Meredith College is a great school for students who have been more sheltered growing up and may not be ready for a big party campus. It is all girls so the sisterhood values are real. You won't find a party scene there because the people who are into that go to the neighboring big university but on campus, everyone seems pretty innocent. There are different clubs and organizations but not too much action in general. I feel very safe walking around campus though because it's all girls and very quiet. You can go on runs if you want and not worry and possible stalkers. I think it's just meant to be a chill school to just get your degree and be done with it but it truly depends on how deep you want to get into traditions and other things. It is all about what you make of it.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

As a college student, if I could go back in time and tell myself as a high school senior, what I know now, I would talk about a lot of things. Being at a private college, financial responsibility and work ethic are both very important. I didn't work as hard as I should have in high school, making the transition to college harder. I would tell myself that the work in high school was actually preparing me for the college challenge. In college, no, you don't have to go to class and you don't have to do your homework, but it is something that you are paying for, making you more appreciative, and more focused on being successful. I would also tell myself to be more open minded coming into college. I came from a small town, and my college is very diverse. In becoming more open minded, I have made so many new friends and established more relationships than I could ever have imagined as a high schooler. I have made friends with people that I normally wouldn't have associated with, which I feel is a huge accomplishment, and a step towards growing up.

  3. Describe the students at your school.

Well all my classmates are females, and many of them come from very weathy families. So sometimes coming from a family that is not weathy is a challenge to fit in. Most people here do not work two jobs and pay for everything on their own, because their parents just hand them the money.
