My advice to those engaged in the tough task of choosing the right college is to remember that only YOU can decide what college is best suited for YOU. Do not succumb to the pressures of others when making this decision, because all institutions arent right for everyone. Some will find that they are better suited in a smaller institution where more attention is paid to each individual student, while some may work better in a bigger institutions with a faster pace and more freedom. After you make your decision, it is important to remember that is easy to lose focus during your first year in college, especially if you live on campus, but this is the most important year. If you fall behind acedemically during your first year, it will be a struggle to bring your GPA up to par (ideally a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.) Some useful tips are: Stay orginized (keep your assignments in a daily planner), Network (Dont be afraid to swap numbers with your classmates to discuss schoolwork), Make use of your teachers Office Hours (They take notice if they see you trying), Attend every class ( It is easy to fall behind!)

Do campus visits.

When searching for the best college, do a lot of research, do campus visits and tours. Converse with the students that are attending that college and ask them about their own personal experience with that college. Never just pick a school because it's convient for you, but because you really think that you are going to enjoy it. College is an important and serious thing, it can help bring you up in life! And once you are at the schoool you have chosen, make the best of it and have as much fun as possible, but at the same time keep those grades up. College can be the best years of your life, if you play it right!

View the campus first and ask about reviews of the school.

The advice that can be given to parents and students looking to choose the right college is to be patient. Many students rush to make decisions based on family and peers, when they should take their time and get to know the campuses a little better. When you rush to select a school you end up in an enviornment you don't know with people you are unfamiliar and uncomfortable around. If students and parents are patient they will find a school where they feel right at home and everything that they value would be if not the same then very similar to their peers.

I would tell them that they need to follow their dreams and that as loong as they are in a good accredited school, they should have no worries. Just do it and get it out of the way. Education is the key and as long as you have that, you will remain powerful forever.

The advice that I would give to parents/students is to choose a schoool that provides you with a good foundation. The best school to attend is a school that teaches you about your own culture and helps you gain an understanding of who you are as an individual. It is very difficult to know where you are going and have goals if you do not know where you have come from and your ethnic group's history. Gaining a clear understanding of who you are allows you to take on future adversity with confidence.

The advice that I would give to parents and future college students is to always go with your first choice of education studies along with a back up plan of study or school, complete the SAT and recieve high scores, complete the FASA Finanical Aid application in order to recieve loans towards books, housing and tuition, look into all scholarships that may protain to your major, and finally to enjoy your experience in college because you only have one life to live. Thank you.
