Baylor University is a small Christian school which provides many opportunities for students to succeed. All the faculty and staff try their best to help students succeed. Because of Baylor University, I have many opportunities to learn and succeed in college. I am able to build relationships with my peers and my professors. I truely believe that all of the professors at Baylor are there to make sure every student is geting the best college experience they can. I know that the transition from high school to college would have been much more difficult had it not been fo the personal relationships that I've built with my peers and professors. My study groups and many areas to do school work together has helped me make new, encouraging friends that I know will last a lifetime. My memories at Baylor will always be a positive one, and I know that the knowledge that I have recieved from the classes will help me perform well in my career.

I am a single working mother so I know that education is very important and needed to advance in my career. In going to college I have learned that eventually hard work and determination will pay off in the end. I currently have an Associate's Degree and that helped me get the job that I currently have. I know with a Bachelor's Degree I can go even furthur in life. I also know finishing school will be a great example for my daughter when she gets older.

Got the education I came here for, as well some friends along the way.
I'd say it's valuable for both the aformentioned things, as well as the fact that it's a fairly religious area (which I took into consideration for applying to a college away from home).

I've recieved the ability to stand up for myself, and realize that there are opportunities for me to go further than I ever thought possible. Baylor gave me the ability to think beyond a degree, towards something I am truly passionate about: psychology. This school is valuable to me because I was fortunate to meet individuals who inspired me with their passion for teaching, and their desire to make sure their students understood the subject matter. I hope to inspire my future students in the same way, and am grateful to Baylor for providing us with faculty who came to school with more than a spring in their step everyday.

I have received so many things from my college education so far and I still have two full semesters ahead of me. My greatest accomplishment is maintaining a 4.0 GPA over my last five semesters at Baylor. Along with that, I have joined numerous honor societies: Alpha Lambda Delta, Alpha Chi, and Delta Epsilon Iota. I am also involved in an organization for my major, Speech Pathology, called NSSHLA. It is a Hearing and Language Association. Outside of academics, I am a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. In my sorority, I am on social committee, help build the float for Baylor's Homecoming Parade, participate in intramurals, and am a dancer for SING and Pigskin, Baylor's dancing/singing performances every fall and spring. I also am a part-time worker at a local day care during the school years and summers. I really cannot begin to describe all the great things I have had the privilege of participating in at Baylor. In high school, I would have never imagined all the great memories and friends I would be making. Baylor is the BEST place for me, I am postive and very very grateful!

I have grown so much as an individual intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and socially. Being in college has allowed me to step out of my confort zone and challenge me in ways that I never could have done in high school or staying at home. It has shown me how strong I am and how strong I can be and that with God, nothing is impossible. I've reexamined who I am and have become more of a leader than I thought possible.

The college lifestlye has been an eye opening experience. I have learned so much about life. I've learned to balance not only school, but working and managing my own bills and rent. It has been a journey that I wouldn't change for anything. I know I'll take the experiences I've learned in college and apply them to my future as a nurse, mother, wife, and whatever else that is in store for me. I've really enjoyed college and would do it all over again if I had the option. I'd repeat the good and bad because I've learned so much from both. I wish everyone had the same opportunity that I've had because I truly feel that it is valuable to attend.

I have made friends that I know I will have and can rely on for the rest of my life. In the year and a half that I have been here I have learned more than I thought was possible to learn in such a short time. I've discovered myself and have found hobbies that I will keep for the rest of my life. I feel that I will be much better prepared for my career in having received a degree at Baylor. I feel that attending college no matter what college is essential to attaining a better career and to being a well rounded person.

I have wanted to attend school here since I was six years old, however I did not expect to be treated as a minority that must participate in some sport to attend school here. However, I am here to get an education by learning from my professors that create tests to measure my knowledge of the material taught in class. I have gained knowledge of what I would like to do after I graduate as a result of my attendance here. My goal would be to help get more minorities into college without the status of an athlete to end the simple minded thinking that most minorities are attending college backed by some sports scholarship. My school tries to help those less fortunate than ourselves by stepping out to offer a hand in the community, but the way that many people on this campus view minorities is what through experience is an unacceptable way to treat anyone. I believe that we as human beings should try to overcome self-centeredness and treat all people fairly. My experience at this university has led me to believe that I was placed here for a reason to see that the world needs change.

In my college experience, I have grown to understand that life is not easy or simple and you have to work hard and struggle to accomplish the things you want. Even with serious problems and hardships, you must move ahead and do the best you can. If you can not grow to understand how important life and success can be, then you will have a hard time accomplishing the things you want. Even though life is full of extreme difficulties and set backs, the only thing that one can do is to move forward. We can not change the past, only attempt to strengthen and improve the future. This college experience has been valuable because it has taught me to struggle past the things that seem impossible and never give up hope, even when things seem like they can get no worse.
