What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
As a high school senior I wouldve told myself to think throughly as to what i want to make of myself as far as a career goes. I started out as a bio major because of what everyone else wanted me to be. I shouldnt be trying to please others with my career choice. I wouldve told myself to think for myself and not for others.

Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Since attending Washington Adventist University, there have been plenty of uniqueness going around campus that captivated my attention and held unto it, which its never letting go. For starters, the diversity is pretty grand, with different cultures and backgrounds. Secondly, I love the fact that it's so spirited and everyone can stop and say a prayer to the man upstairs without being judged in any way, or how. That feeling of freedom is so rare and unique nowadays, that whenever we have a problem, whether its good nor bad, its a blessing to know that we can do that.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing about my school is the dormitories they need to rebuild them, we have no elevators at the girls dorm and its difficult to carry heavy loads to the 3rd floor 24/7. we have a heating system that is controlled so when the weather changes there are times in where the heat is still on and it should have been changed to AC and its frustrating , they need to upgrade.

What are the most popular student activities/groups?
During my first year, the most popular activities had to be the sports games. Soccer, Basketball, and Volleyball were the three sports that many people supported wholeheartedly. I advocated for soccer, because I love cheering for my team. People who did not even attend the school still found time to make it over and support their friends and family, which is something that I admire.
There are also worship groups that meet at different times during the day or night and discuss Christ and what we, as students, can do to carry out his work.

What is your overall opinion of this school?
My school is a good one. There isn't much to do around the campus or in Takoma Park itself. There's more civilization and stores in Silver Spring.
Also, there isn't a large variety of food for lunch or dinner. Yes, it is a Christian college, but it is obvious that Christians are not the only ones attending the school. All they serve is vegetarian and vegan food (there are eggs, but not fish or meat). The "meat" they do have is fake, so that's a negative. However, the breakfasts have more of a wide variety because it has fruit, pastries, waffles/pancakes/French toast sticks, etc.
Because it is an Adventist school, there is not much to do on the Sabbath (Saturday) except prayer and dedicating time to God. Men are not allowed to go in the girls' dorm room (to move out any furniture) and cleaning and partying is frowned upon before sunset.
Chapel is also mandatory, even for those who are not Christian. It happens every Wednesday, and we must receive a certain amount of Worship credits depending on our year. If we don't, we must pay a fine.
Overall, I do like my school, but there could be some adjustments to make everyone one comfortable and not only a few. The good thing is that those in charge do take in consideration of our complaints.
