Voorhees College is a very good school. The people here are ver nice and hardworking. They help you in anyway they can. Even though it's in the middle of nowhere. I'm glad I decided to come here becuase its very small and the classes are to. It gives you a better opportunity to learn mor e in the classes. People made it seem like it was a bad college but i love it. It's great. The reason I decided to go here is because Voorhees has a Softball team. My college experience has been amazing here. The faturnities and sororities are great. I'm thinking about joining The Deltas their great. They make the parties hype everything just seems so fun. I'm really glad I decided to go here.

Not only has my college experience at Rollins College been incredibly educational on a variety of subjects, I have also learned so many different facets of myself that I had not realized before college. I have become an involved leader, both on campus and in my sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi. If I had not attended Rollins, I would never have met my best, and most likely life-long friends and without them, I'm not sure if I could have made it through college. Both my friends and professors have always been there for me with academic and social problems. Any other school would have been a mistake because coming to Rollins has been one of the best choices I've ever made!

College helps me to become a better person each day. I know that if I strive to do my best, I will be successful in reaching my goals. I know that being able to go to college and being able to experience life on my own will show me how to better prepare myself for the working environment. Though college can be challenging and hard work I know that in the end my work will pay off. I feel that if I don’t attend college it will make me feel less of a person. I know that not attend college or not show my full potential will make me feel as if I am settling for less. I know that this is a great opportunity and I will not settle for anything less then I deserve.

My college experience has done numerous things in the short period of time that I have been attending, being that I am just a sophomore. I have learned to break out of the shy shell I was once trapped in. I learned how to express myself not only verbally or fashion wise but also intellectually. In short my experience has changed me for the better and has allowed me experiences I could have learned in no other setting. The college is located in rural South Carolina which was out of my personal comfort zone. Being outside of my comfort zone as well as being on my own taught me how to effectively live for myself. After all it is college and faculty and upperclassman are here to help but do not spoon feed in the least way. In conclusion, I value attending Voorhees because I know I will leave with skills and experiences that will effectively have me prepared for the vast possibilities laid before me.

Marian Wright Edelman said that “education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.” My education and college experience is priceless to me, demands a great amount of attention, and requires hard work to be successful. I want to strive challenging myself to be focused as much as possible as I try to complete the rest of my education. My determination and focus plays the most important role in my future endeavors and success. I want to inspire future students to start their own course to success and pave the way to a valuable career. A wise individual once said that “every job is a self-portrait of the person who did it. Autograph your work with excellence.” The signature of a good college education can lead to a promising, excellent future in the field you pursue.

I've gotten alot out of my college experience and with this being my freshman year there is still alot too learn. Its so many people here at Voorhees College that makes me feel at home. I learn that coming too a new school and being in a new enviroment your going too meet new people. Sometimes its your choice if you choose the right friends or not but at Voorhees College its making me grow. I dont only find myself growing but I'm also learning new things such as making a plan and setting high goals. I came too Voorhees College with fear in my heart but as time goes on the people here tell me that i can do it, not too give up, and keep reaching for the stars. This is valuable too me in so many ways because now I tell myself i can do it and i will.

After starting school at St. Phillips College I was able to get a feel of what I really wanted out of my educational institution. Being in a smaller class had the advantage of a one-on-one teacher student relationship, which I particularly enjoyed. I had to adjust my life schedule to balance out work and school. Likewise, I adjusted to the teacher expectations and study habits of collegiate life. During my experience at community college it became my understanding, as the semester progressed, that more adults were attending community college after sitting out of school a couple of years. As a result, I felt it was these students slowing down the pace of the class by asking several questions. I also realized I needed a more upbeat educational environment. Never the less, an education is important at any level. In my perspective, a student right out of High School, college has given me a great deal of interactive skills, communication skills, and patience. College is not only giving me the qualities I will need for my future career but also qualities I must have in life.

I really have not gotten a good experince out of goin to this school so far, but they do try to make the most out of our college experience. There is only so much they can do because we don't have all the resources or the money. I think the reason that they are lacking so much is because of the people they have on staff who are really not doing their job. This school seem's to focus on getting the money they need instead of keeping the students; thats why the graduation rate is low. Voorhees has so much potential , I can see alot happening for this school but the way they handle things is backwards. Voorhees strives hard to better the black community and to let us know that there is a whole world out there full of opportunity; but we're struggeling to get it and it's hard for the students who came here with nothing like myself and trying their hardest to stay here so that their future can be prosperous. My experience at this school is neutral and I want to make it better

My college experience is easily the most lifechanging experience since birth. The realization that after the completion of my degree, I will be able to earn a place in the world for myself and my daughter based on my abilities is surreal. I have the resources and skills necessary to excel in anything I attempt, and this is especially important to me since I am head of household, with no one to fall back on. The Campus Discovery scholarship would be a great blessing not only for me, but also my newborn. That is the most important thing I have gotten out of my college experience so far, is a real sense of reality, and how important it is to work hard, and earn what I have in life. The value of attending school is more than I ever could have imagined, and I feel my character has been strengthened greatly throughout this experience. Earning a degree for trade that will help other people is a priority, and I am positive I have picked the right program for my skills. Thank you, Campus Discovery for considering me for your generous scholarship.

What I have gotten out of my college experience is that I never gave up. I never gave up because I am the second person in my family to go to college, and my mom she didn't even complete high school. I wanted to make her proud and also my case worker as well since I am in foster care. I also learn that colleges may not be the best and some things you want to change you can't change them. So this experience for me in college is to just do more research before I attend Grad School. I can truly say one valuable thing about Voorhees, it's well worth the educational part with the professors being there for you like a parents would. The professors go up and beyond just to help students who need it. They even take time out of their busy schedules. My overall experience has been a lesson and I am learning from it.
