I'm extremely impressed with the academics at UNH. I think the professors here have always pushed me to do my best. This is particularly related to the Journalism program. I love how the program is organized and I love having the opportunity to take different classes with the same professor. I also loved doing my internship and was so thankful that UNH could organize it for me.

I think if you want a professor to know your name here at UNH, you need to see them out in your own time during their office hours. This is because there is such a large student body it's hard for them to get to know students if there isn't an effort being made.

I am enrolled in the WSBE program here at UNH and I do not like it all. I am a business admin major and plan to option in accounting, and yet I have to have a C- or higher in the ECON classes. Which I think doesn't make sens. I can get a D in finite math, but then I cannot have anything lower than a C- in ECON which is completely irrelevant to my major. Half of my teachers do not know my name because the classes are always so huge.

As a freshman and sophomore, I always enjoyed the big lecture halls because I had a fear that the professor would pick on me if the classes were smaller. As I found my niche as a recreation management and policy student, the class size decreasing only helped my academics. I hated taking my general education classes, but once I got into the swing of things within my major, I began to thoroughly enjoy my studies.

The professors are really great, if you take the time to seek them out then you will be all set. Students are competitive but it just depends on your major and your classes. The requirements are really hard, much harder than other schools.

There is a variety of classroom settings, ranging from a small and personable to a large lecture setting. Students usually study often, for as the Dimond Library is always crowded all day long. The most unique class I ever took was Stereotypes of Asians in America as a history GenEd. I am a hospitality major in the Whittemore School of Business. The business school is very competitive and very challenging. I feel UNH's academic requirements are accurate, and our educations are geared towards getting a job.

The classes are big, so you really need to be on top of your work, but the classes are, for the most part, pretty interesting.

in general education classes professors don't know your name unless you raise your hand all the time or go to office hours. This classes are good GPA boosters and expand your knowlege of a variety of topics. Once you get into your major classes they are smaller and students take the time to learn your name and participation is expected of you. some students study all the time some don't it depends on what classes you are in. some students have intellectual conversations but usually about other topics, not ones from the classroom.

There is a variety of professors. Some professors really care about their students and know all their students names. While in a big class that is obviously going to be hard. In smaller classes participation is great in the bigger classes I know that personally I am not one to raise my hand in a huge lecture style class. But, a lot of other people feel comfortable doing so. I would have to say that the advising on campus is not that great. I feel like they do not have great direction for the students for their future goals.

Academics at UNH are phenomenal. Although some of the larger lectures make it hard for students to attend and pay attention, but overall I enjoy my big lectures. My favorite class is english 401 which seems hard to believe because everyone else that has taken it, didn't enjoy it as much as I am right now. My teacher, Clark Knowles, makes the class so interesting and fun that I enjoy writing my papers and doing the homework. I wish I would've spent more time one on one with some of my professors but with their limited office hours and my conflicting schedule made it really hard to make that extra time and effort.
