The most frustrating thing about my school if finding a staff member who is passionate about solving your issues. Although the professor's and advisor's credentials are great and have high regards to the research community, many of them treat their students like they are just another number. It's difficult to find help on where you went wrong on an exam or where your financial aid will come in so you can buy your next meal since staff members tend to treat you like one of the masses.

If I had to narrow it down to just one thing, I'd have to say parking. There never seems to be enough parking, although the school is trying to fix that.

The most frustrating about university of houston is the parking on campus and the computers. The parking is very bad if you do not have a parking garage permit. Also the computers on campus are very hard to find free, it always seems that i cant find a open computer. The wifi connection on campus is constantly going down for hours on end and when it does work its very slow.

You go for academic advising the first time and they say: "Sorry we're full!" You decide to sign up for classes you think you may need before going back. You arrive SUPER early. They make you wait for an hour (maybe longer), you finally get a meeting with your academic advisor. You meet for 2 minutes, where your advisor tells you that you're all set for next semester with the classes you already chose. That is incredibly frustrating! I recommend choosing your classes before going for academic advising and arrive as early as possible.

The organization of clubs and volunteer programs.

The most fustrating thing about my school is that they are not always very clear about how some of the financial aid works. They give you very basic information that doesn't usually connect with someone's personal situation.

Sarah

I get extremely frustrated with financial issues. I have been living in Houston for almost four years now, I work here, I file taxes independently, but I am still unable to get in-state tuition because my parents live in Arkansas and I am under the age of 24. Out-of-state tuition is so much more expensive!

Sandy

The most frustrating thing at school is trying to find parking without owning a garage parking permit.

Honestly, there is no real major challenge at the University of Houston. Usually with schools there are social issues or lack of attention to certain aspects of the school but not at this university. The students and faculty are nice and greet eachother daily. Along with a great social environment, there are multiple opportunities to have free tutoring sessions. With the schools computers and 'blackboard' it is easy to stay in contact with teachers and others in your classes. Overall, the University of Houston is a great campus.
