I actually love TU, it’s one of the first Universities that I actually feel Like I’m being engaged and truly learning. My previous professors have taken time out to ensure all of the students are well informed. I would recommend Thomas University to anyone.

I love Thomas University and very happy that I chose this University to pursue my higher education degree. The classes and professors have been instrumental in directly and immediately making a positive impact on my classroom. The schedule is perfect for me to continue teaching while i obtain my Master's degree and has not been too overwhelming.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back and talk to myself as a high school senior I would remind myself to trust the process of life. Things will not necessarily go as planned and that is okay. Change is stressful whether it is good or bad, so try not to worry so much. Focus on apply that information. Volunteer to feed the homeless, help the poor, talk to the elderly, spend time with your family and show love to those who are less fortunate. Lastly, don't ever try to be better than someone else but try to better than YOURSELF everyday!

  9. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I am an older student. I even have a child in college. What I wish I had known before I came to this school was how to easily apply for grants, and also that there are other options to buying books than from the store the school uses on its website. It could have saved me quite a bit of money. A household and 2 teenage sons are not cheap, especially with one of them in college!

  10. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst thing about my school is the fact that there is no on campus housing. Thomas University is a very small college and is in the process of growing, however, there are not many options for students coming in from out of town for cheap housing. The college is a wonderful experience and could do so much more if there was just more housing for students.

Thomas University is open to all types. It is an economically changing times that affect me the most. The foundation now is to be able to afford it and work hard to get it. I am determined to do that but the finances are very hard to achieve. I work 4 jobs and go to schoold full time as well. I want my education. Do I think the struggle should be so hard on the way? No I don't but such is life for everyone right now. I am willing to work twice as hard for it.

  12. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

I love Thomas University. It has beautiful campus and it is smaller. I like the fact that it is in the community I live in so I don't have to live on campus. That helps my family financially as well. I can go right from work in a short period of time. I think students do receive a more indivdualized learning atmosphere in the classroom as well. I don't have a lot of time for the social side of campus but I do love it here.
