I love this community college. It is very diverse and very accommodating to students from every walk of life. Some students are parents or work full time jobs so there are classes late at night and early in the morning to fit just about everyone's schedule. I like that there are multiple campuses to choose from. Great quality of education. It is not too expensive either.

Adanna - 01/19/2020

Solid school to start and transfer from. I would recommend students to work towards earning scholarships because it's still a college with fees and such. Very few professors are unprofessional and rude, but other than that I have had a positive experience at CCBC Catonsville.

Atta - 10/09/2019

Great school, great professors that provide sufficient education. The campus has an amazing cafeteria and library. The infrastructure and buildings are well-built, surrounded by greenery. It has good parking lots with great facilities. Classrooms are mediocre but clean and provide a great learning experience.

They've made me jump through hoops just to be independent status for financial aid even though I've been independent in other schools and the requirements I turned in never seemed to be enough. Most of the teachers just love to hear themselves talk and one teacher I had didn't teach anything until two weeks before the finals week in a full Fall semester. I've been approved and offered a state scholarship and they need additional information and verification even though the state has already offered me the scholarship. They seem to think they're such a great college when their graduation rate is below-average. This school is a joke.

The Community College of Baltimore County FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at The Community College of Baltimore County?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for The Community College of Baltimore County is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If Icould go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, I'd advise myself to be strong, patient, and wise. College work is not difficult, however, being your own motivator is because you have to manage your time to read numerous of chapters every week, no one reminds you regularly when assignments are due, and although teachers are there to help you, you have to be strong enough to push yourself. Also, college is not cheap and with your major, books will likely be at least a hundred plus each so work over the summer and save up; summer is no longer a three month vacation. Once you've settled on campus, get involved in clubs and organizations so that you will feel a sense of self worth as well as gain friendships. You may have neglected social activities and only focused on academics in high school but in college, trust me you will appreciate the comradery of others for they will be your support system and allow you to feel relaxed. I want you to enjoy and take advantage of your college experience, don't stress, you can do it.

The best thing about my school is the size and the relationship between students and professors. It is just big enough that you see a new face everyday and small enough where there is time for the professor to know who you are and you aren't just a number they want you to succeed.

  11. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I feel my program is not considered a part of the college. Our buildings are separate from the other college buildings but they really have to be to deal with the cars and traffic we have. Our courses are a concentrated eight weeks and we have internships which take us off campus for the second eight weeks of each semester. I would like a calendar to give me an idea of what and when things are going to happen in my program.
