What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
As a high school student I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to become in the future. But after a little while of high school, things became much easier to me. I say that because I first was planning to become a teacher. I chose a teacher because teachers must know all of the answers to every question asked. I said that because once you become a professor, you must always know the answer to a question asked. After a little while, I decided to become a construction worker. I chose that one because over the passed years of life, I've been doing construction work on the outside of homes. the type of work that I did was siding, roofing, paneling, carpeting, etc... My final major that I chose and will stay with is called an Interior Designer. I chose that career because for the pass seven years, I've learned so much in those classes. I also chosh to become an Interior Designer because I'm a great designing student. So that's the reasons why I chose to become an Interior Designer. I think that becoming a great Interior Designer is right for me.

People who take education seriously and want to learn, to challege themselves, should attend this school. Friendly people who want to be invovled on-campus, as well as in community service, will love this school; campus invovlement and community service are both highly regarded at St. Mary's.

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I had known how connected it is with the local community. The campus often rents off sections for local birthday parties and whatnot to the neighbors. It is a very surreal experience to be on campus on a Saturday morning and see a seven year old's birthday party, complete with bounce house, on a college campus.

Something unique about my school, compared to other schools I considered is the class size. The student:teacher ratio is very low and allows for one on one learning. The professors are able to set more convinient office hours for the students and encourage students to attend office hours even if it is simply to meet each other.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
I love my university. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change anything. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. The amount of money I have to pay and loans I have to get just to pay a year of school is the only bad thing about it. It is too much and it's geting more expensive every year. The school is great, but the overall cost of attendence is ridiculous for someone who can't afford it every year.

The classes are great, as well as the teachers and the level of helpfulness, but there is just a lack of communication with from offices to students.

What's unique about your campus?
The best thing that St. Mary's University can offer is a good college experience in which you will learn and make friends. It's a school that really cares about faculty and student interaction and the well being of the student. They will contact you and help you if for some reason you as the student have problems of some kind. They also like to encourage alot of community service that in the long run it really helps build up your resume. These qualities are the ones that drove me into this school.

What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
When I tell my friends about my school I mostly brag about the fact that everyone almosts knows who is who, you basically see the same people everyday and the atmosphere is always cheerful. I absolutley love the fact that the classes are small and the professor has time for one to one communication and they know their students by name. The faculty always has time for their students and provide advice on how to do the work assigned and how to manage time for the assignments.

The most frusterating thing about St. Mary's is the cost. It is extremely expensive, although it is a private school.
