If I able to go back in time, I would apply to more schools earlier and searched for more scholarships. I would let myself know about the time change from high school to college because time management is important. Also I would let myself know about the importance of saving money because you have to pay for books and there may be days when you want to eat out. When you get ready to leave for school, you must be prepared because you live in a new place. I would tell myself to buy things that would benefit me in the long run. I would tell myself to choice Georgia Southern University. That way I can keep my job in Statesboro and not have money problems as of now when I left for college. I would also tell myself to study and pay more attention in my English classes and in my math classes. Those classes seem to be the hardest classes I have in college and not to take history and Eng. in the same semester. I would tell myself to talk to as many people as I possible can because college is easier with friends. I would tell myself not to leave Mr. Brown's class because the other teacher is crazy and my math 101 teacher is hard to study and to stay on top of math as possible. I would also say college is as hard and I make it, and as long as I don't be lazy it could flow by in a second, easy.

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a senior in high school, I would first prove it was me by telling me something only I would know. After establishing my identity, I would explain how great college is as an older student. I would also explain that, even though, I have a great time as a parent, it would have been a lot easier to have my diploma in hand before life got in the way. I would tell me that life is great and to live it with all your heart. Education is the best way to achieve your goals, so learn all that you can. Question anything and everything that puzzles you; search for the answer until you find it. Hold on to the dreams that you have and keep them foremost in your heart and mind. Let everything that is not important go. The most important thing in life is an open mind. Plant your feet firmly in your beliefs and do not allow anyone to budge you on the things you find most important.

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would forewarn myself of the difficulties of "college life". I would teach myself better study habits and how to, more efficiently, manage my financial income. Study habits should be deeply embedded in a college student's mind. More work is given and professors will not always remind you of upcoming due dates. I would encourage myself to never give up or give in when things get tough. I would advise myself to not let the social activities interfere with my studies. As far as financial stability, I would apply for scholarships and inform myself on the many different ways to keep note of my financial activity. If my bank did not have a teller near the college I chose to attend, I would tell myself to research banks in the nearby area and find one that caters to my individual needs. I would advise myself to set a budget to live off of and strictly adhere to it. These are the things that most college students, and I, struggle with. If someone would have warned me, I would be more stable and focused.

For parents, I would say let your child choose his or her own college that he or she may be happy with. For students, live life one day at a time, have fun, and don't party to much. School comes first.

Take as many on campus tours as you can to decide which school has the best environment for you.
