While the main reason you considered going to community college is because of a boyfriend, I want to reassure you of what a great idea it is. It will be hard to make friends there, but you will reconnect with old friends. Working full time will be a pain, but will come in handy for when you want to get to Europe. Honestly, you have done a pretty good job. Going to community college will save you money and thus will let you feel better about attending the University of Tulsa. Now for your senior year you need to have more fun. While prom seems lame, go ahead and go everything is a memory. It is important that you start volunteering. Volunteering for the Salvation Army Angel Tree will make you feel good for helping in your community and will also show you how many people struggle in this world to give their children what they deserve. Times will seem hard, but just be the strong women that I know you are.

If i could go back in time and talk to myself in high school, the first thing that i would say to myself is that i should stay focused and do not let anything get in the way of getting my work done. I would say that the parties are not really anything i should be too excited about because they will all get boring and redundant after a while. Also i would say that i should really get involved more and dont be stuck in staying in your room all the time. The reason i would say that is because i like to be alone a lot of the time and i should get the courage to go out and do more things. Last but not least i would say to myself that the most important thing is to just focus on taking as may classes as you can each semester so that i wont get behind.

Attending Paine College has truly been an experience for me in the three years that I have been attending. I cannot say the social life is the best when it comes to that real "college" experience that everyone talks about, but it has truly taught me how to seek out and find new things to explore. The people here are extremely nice making the college a very safe and comfortable place to be. In the classroom, I have learned how to deal with different types of learners and also how to share my opinion with others in order for us to come up with a solution to suit all. I feel like I have touched many young children through field work here and I also feel like I have had an impact on classmates as well. Being uncomfortable in certain classrooms situations has also helped me to not be bashful or intimidated in front of a group. This was very helpful because I want to be a teacher. Last but not least the friendships I have found are truly genuine and simply PRICELESS! All in all, I love my PC! (Paine College)

What has came out of my college experience is a greater sense of self, and the ability to learn from my mistakes. It has been a great value to attend college, but the main thing that is suppose to be learned from the experience is expanding socially and in your business life. I have really learned that networking is suppose to be a great asset for any college student, because if you graduate and have some contacts already then you are good. If you graaduate with no contacts then it becomes harder to find a job.

I realized this school was the perfect fit for me when I visited the College in December 2009. Not only did I receive a campus tour, I met the softball coach as well as some of the team, along with meeting and having a conversation with the college President, Dr. George C. Bradley. I was thoroughly impressed and I knew this is the institute for me. Pain College has been in existence since 1882; the campus is a not large and overwhelming. It is just the right size. The college is a church-related private institution, with the mission to provide a liberal arts education of the highest quality that emphasizes academic excellence, ethical and spiritual values, social responsibility, and personal development to prepare men and women for positions of leadership and service in the African American community, the nation, and the world. It is an hour and half drive from my hometown of Lithonia, Georgia. I have met a lot of people who have assisted me and made my college experience worthwhile. My lifelong fondness for animals has led me to choose the field of veterinary services as the career I would like to pursue.

I have learned that going to college is very beneficial because it can open doors to sucess in the future. Without college, then there would probably be no way for me to obtain the career I want. Now that I've almost completed my first year of college, I have learned that time manangement is a vital way to be organized. It has been plenty of times where I lost the track of time and almost missed class when I had a test or an important meeting to attend to. As the months went by, I taught myself to stay on track with time because I'm on my own now and I have to mature a lot faster. Lastly, staying organized with everything is very important too. Its important simply because I know that I would be struggling without good organizational skills. In high school, I was the worst organizer, but the first month of college changed that for me. I took notes on every upcoming event or on upcoming homework assignments. In closing, it has been valuable to attend becuase it has changed me as a person overall.

I was not a person that wanted to attend college at all. I thought it would be a waste of time and an extension of high school. I definitely did not want to go to a community college but decided to attend a semester to pacify a high school teacher. I am the first in my family to attend college and was incredibly nervous and confused. I absolutely loved my experience at Rose State College. The faculty and staff are so helpful and understanding that it made my transition from high school very smooth. In college you are treated like an adult and expected to work hard. I loved being in control of my decisions instead of having someone else map out my life like they did in high school. It is challenging to attend college but also very rewarding. My community college experience has prepared me to transfer to a four-year university. I have never regretted my decision to attend college and would encourage others who are hesitant to enroll to try a semester as a college student. It has changed my life and given me a more stable future.
