In high school, I never knew exactly how to say what I meant. I had many ideas, brilliant ideas, but I didn't know how to articulate them. In my first quarter of school, I took a required English class where we had to read and analyze famous works of literature - a task that seemed very daunting to me at first because I had always hated writing and English classes. I had an outstanding professor, though, and without her and without great literature, my life would have never known the richness that can only be attained through reading. I learned how to question, how to have passion instead of apathy. I learned that things are not always as they seem to be. I think differently about books now. When I begin to read, I ask myself why the author wrote it, what they are trying to convey. The creation has to have meaning, otherwise it would not have been made. Going to college has been important to me because it revealed to me things I did not know about myself - that my greatest desires are to convey a truth to someone else and to make a difference in this world.

I have learned that no matter what gets in my way to receive an education, it will always be worth it to fight for that right. I have learned that being different from others can be a good thing.

I have gotten a lot of things out of my college experience. New friendships, a wonderful education, and independence. But I think the thing that I value the most other than an education of course, is the sense of community that I feel at The Ohio State University. Even though it is one of the largest student bodies and one of the largest campuses in the country, it still feels as if everyone at Ohio State belongs to one big family. Ohio State is like it's own little city inside Columbus and that it very valuble to me. I have felt so comfortable and welcome since the first moment I arrived on campus and that is a very important thing to me. I value everything I have learned so far and I think that the skills I have learned and the comfort I have felt in college so far will help me tremendously thoughout my life, along with the excellent education I am recieving.

I love my school. Deciding to go to The Ohio State University has been one of the best choices of my life. One of the greatest aspects of OSU is the diversity of students and staff. I have met so many great and diverse people at OSU and I have made a lot of true life-long friends. I have also learned so much at OSU. When I left my hometown to attend this university I had no idea what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. Attending classes and learning from professors with real world experience I discovered my true passion. I also join a student organization, Dance Sport at OSU. I made so many great friends because of this club, I stayed in shape getting to dance everyday and I am now the Preisdent of the organization. My experience at Ohio State has been incredible and I wouldn't trade it for any other.

I have learned many things in College. I have garnerd friends, knowledge, and a proffessional network. I have discovered things I would never have discovered have nI not gone to college. I am currently a major in finance, and when I graduate, I will definitely be prepared to handle any financial transactions. I could only have attained this knowledge by attening college. Had I not, I would not be able to learn about any part of the economy, business, and finance. College is truely a large and wonderful experience.

My college experience has taught me about time management, growth and development, group work, patience, acceptance, failure, and self worth.

So far I've been able to establish some independence and learn about life on my own. I've met many, many new people that I've had great times with in the dorms as well in the clasroom and out lying community centers and facilites. I've learned a lot more about discipline and and managing my time than I ever have had to use for any other reason in my life. I've learned team sport dynamics and how to balance the training, playing and traveling with my classes and study times. I learned that I HAVE A LOT MORE TO LEARN !

So far, out of my one year of college experience, I have learned a lot about myself: my likes, dislikes, interests, what types of people I connect best to, how to be outgoing and personable with all types of people, how to accept other and different cultures, what I'm looking for in a career and life, and much more. It has been so valuable to me to meet all the professors, TA's, and friends that I have in my time here. They have helped me develop as a person and they have helped my career ambitions grow into great plans and goals. I am forever grateful for all the people and situations I have encountered at Ohio State that have made me who I am, and will continue to help me grow in a positive direction.

I have retrieved more knowledge then I could have dreamed of learning in high school. Since everything always changes it is very important to always learn more whenever possible, and college is the best way to get that. I have had some of the worst and best experiences since I have been enrolled in college, but those experiences taught me a little more everyday. I believe I am going to become very successful soon because of the information that college has taught me. Technology grows more everyday, therefore our brains have to grow with it. Even though you can learn a lot from only experience, college is where the money is at. So basically I have gotten a whole new career and aspect on life from just attending a few classes every semester.

Responsibility is the most important value that I got from the college experience. The first semester in college was hard for me; college and high school are two different environments. In high school students have a responsibility but not as high as the one they have in college. College is a way to start learning about the responsibility of life where parents won?t be always at our side when we need them. College tough me that I am the only one responsible for the classes I take and if I am going to attend to class or if I am going to be lazy and do nothing all day. In college responsibility is the most important part because this is the value that will help you to pass the classes, be tin class on time, present every homework on time and no late, and study as much that a student need to pass the test and the class. Pass the classes is one of the biggest challenge in college when a person is not really prepare. The first year or semester in college tough me that even if it is hard to achieve I have to keep trying.
