Although I have only been at college for a few short months, I already have become my own, independent person. I have learned to live without my parents, and that in itself is an accomplishment. I have also gained a sense of direction in my life. The populated streets and the tall buildings never cease to amaze me. By being at Ohio State and in Columbus, I know that this is where I belong.

My college experience has been the most enjoyable time of my life so far. Leadership opportunities are the most thrilling part of my 2 years of college. Starting my sophomore year, I have become President of Society of Student Leaders, one of the largest clubs at Trident Technical college. Another accomplishment of mine is becoming one of ten ambassadors of the college. We are a special advertising group of the college that gives tours to individuals of the school. College also has been preparing me for the real working world in so many ways. I have more responsibilities influencing my future than I ever have. Continuing to learn is essential to life, but so far, the most important skill I have learned and improved since I have been in college is communication. Learning how to talk to people that I do not know has helped me to become the leader I am in my community. The one thing I anticipate to leave with my peers is if you have an opportunity to step and lead or take charge of anything then take advantage of the opportunity. School will continue to be the best thing I have ever done.

The Ohio State University is like a small city within a larger city. In fact it is like a simulation of a city. Every morning I head off to my classes as if I'm heading off to work in the real world. As I head off to class I pass by other people who are just as diverse as the people I will pass by in real life. College is not just academics its also a community. In my academics the most important skill to learn is how to learn because we never stop learning whether we are in school or not. Meeting new people and making friends is an important goal for me when I came to college. My college experience includes also the balance of the real world and college itself. Not only do I go to class but I work as well. I do the best I can to balance work, college, and my social life. And the accumulation of these aspects make my college experience very valuable indeed.

What I have gotten out of my college experience so far is that I have a lot of free time! I was really nervous on the first day because of how big the university is and I didn't know what to expect in my classrooms but after I few hours beinging in college, I was used to it because in high school, the speed in the classroom is the same with college. I was scared that I would get lost but even though it is a big campus, it is not as big as I thought it was. College is different from high school because when you are late, the teacher doesn't care and you don't have to go to class compared to high school. One thing that I like about college is how much free time that I have so I have to watch what I do with that time. Since no one is forcing you to go to classes, I think it is important because with the education that you are learning in college , it is going to help you in the major of your choice.

My college experience has been great. I have gotten a lot of friends and networks to help me succeed in life. It has been valuable because I would have not been able to make those connections if I went elsewhere. I am excited in finishing the rest of my college years and graduating.

I've had the chance to meet new people as much as possible. Learn all different things, because there is always something new going on at Ohio State. I've learned that, in a place so big, it's important to have a small group of people you can relax with. The people, believe it or not, are what make a big school like Ohio State feel small and comfortable.

I have taught how to manage my time wisely and how to balance schoolwork and outside activites. I have also learned how to keep all of my subjects and notes organized. I've been able to focus on my courses and keep up good grades and work part-time to save up to eventually transfer to a four year university. I've had many experiences throughout my life and my college courses just help me see that it is difficult balanceing classes and work.

Although this is my second year at the Ohio State University, I have had such a great experience here. The campus is beautiful and has different types of environments, such as city life, suburbs, anybody will fall in love with this campus. Classes are very large is size, but they also offer smaller classes where students have in-depth discussions with their teachers. Everybody is motivated at OSU, most of the time here is spent in the library. The Thompson Library is a newly built beautiful building with eleven floors. There are several other libraries nearby to provide a learning environment for all of its students.
However, nothing compares to the school spirit. Every game day students wake up early in the morning to get ready for the game. I don't think any school has as much school spirit as the buckeyes. Until you've been to the stadium and witnessed the school spirit, it is something miraculous. Going to Ohio State makes me proud to be a buckeye whenever somebody asks me what university I attend.

My college experience has been a dynamic road, each quarter feeling like a different year passing by. During my spring quarter in Ohio State University, there is a prestigious competition for honors students which divides all of the honors engineering students into teams of four and teaches them to create a project- a self navigating robot through a certain maze. While the project itself has been complicated enough as it is, it becomes even more so complicated when you have a few hundred compeititive students involved each competing for the place at the top. So after hours of grueling work, things started going downhill when our egos started getting in our way. Instead of cooperating, we were bickering about who should give out the commands. After a week of almost getting no work done, we stopped the bickering and started working. It became clear then who was the best in which part of the project. After each one assumed their own responsibility, we would asked for help if they needed, not to order another person around. That is when we realized, that one should not lead through commands and order, but rather through excellence.

Besides a good education, I have learned a lot about the world and myself. I have met my best friends and joined organizations that are shaping the course of my life. I have been able to choose a major and explore other interests in my minor.
