Currently, it's my 4th and final year at Notre Dame and it was interesting but delightful. I really enjoyed the calm and caring environment t align with the support of women. I personally feel like I have grown out of my shell from first coming to NDMU. This is an excellent University if you are completely focused on getting you're degrees and starting your career.

My opinion about Notre dame of Maryland is that the school is amazing. It do have a good nursing program that I love to be part of. The teachers are very welcoming and caring for their students. They want all of the students to be successful in college and future careers. They provide support and activities to help prepare us for jobs. The school is very diversely, which allow students to get to know each other and bonding.

Notre Dame is expensive, it's a private university and they charge you for it! I had great professors and some that were average and others that made me feel like I was simply doing busy work. I had difficulty connecting with financial aid and the business office on multiple occasions. My academic advisor was not well organized and took awhile in her responses. The department also changed courses our cohort needed midway through our program causing quite the disruption.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Going to a small women's college I actually got a lot more out the experience than I thought. I was not only empowered and became more confident but was able to multi-task and be involved in my different areas. I was able to continue to play sports and still excell academically. I have many great memories leading as the captain of my soccer and tennis teams as well as other campus organizations. I came in as a shy freshman and left as a grown leader.

  10. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish i would have known about the scholarships oppurtunities. Yes, i already knew college would be very expensive and scholarships are out there for you to apply, but i didnt know my school offered persoal scholarships. Other than the grants and student aid the school gives you, they also award scholarships for those who apply. My classmate told me she went in for an interview and came out with a scholarship. Having a scholarship really takes the stress off paying for college.

My school is the only all womens catholic college in maryland. It is very few all womens colleges in the U.S., as well as being catholic. My school consist of small classes, where each student can recieve that one on one help they need. It gives every student as much assistance as you need and offers you everything you need on campus. Eventhough having no boys may be a let down, it is a great way to focus fully on your work and study.
