Overall I believe Milwaukee Area Technical College offers great opportunities for students like affordable, schooling counselors and people were able to connect with and get guidance from, but I often feel I’m mislead a lot when searching for help and guidance.

Jaquita - 05/15/2020

I've learned a lot at MATC but when I needed help the most MATC wasn't their for me they denied me emergency services which led to me being evicted and having to drop out of classes. So MATC is okay but not dependable. As far as my professors and classmates I love them I've met so many different individuals and learned so many different perspectives.

I's a technical college, not the best place to go for education of for the "college life" but it's something to get you a head start. As long as you're focused at the task at hand, or have a group of people who you can hang out with after school, it's not as bad.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back in time and talk to myself about college. I would tell myself things I need to do to become a successful college graduate. I would tell myself to get good grades in high school. I would tell myself what I want to major in and stick to that career. So, that I would not waste any time or money going to college. I would apply and receive scholarships to help pay for my college degree. I would tell myself to, go to MIlwaukee Area Technical College and complete my associates degree in Paralegal studies. Because it's a great school and it's affordable. I would tell myself to go to college right after high school. Before I decide to have a family so, that I wouldn't have any reasons to get distracted. Then, I would tell myself what my next goal would be. Which would be to attend the University of Milwaukee Wisconsin to complete my bachelors degree. Then I would tell myself to take my education even further . So, I could become the Lawyer that I want to become while I am still young vibrant and intelligent.

  11. What is your overall opinion of this school?

In my opinion, Milwaukee Area Technical College is not too large and not too small. It is just right that we like to attend this college for an associate degree. This college is for students who are struggling, who is a parent or single parent, for someone who may need help with government assistance. This college is great for us who are looking for employment; MATC has job fairs like every 2-3 times a month. MATC also help students that wants to further their education, MATC partners up with the 4 year colleges so once our done we will have no problem registering for the college you will be like pre-enrolled, they also have college fairs, healthcare fairs, blood drives etc. MATC have so much to offer for the students that attend the college. And they show us so much respect and love. I am enjoying being there because I learn how to deal with different cultures and religions. The professors really do try to help those who really do want help and not just trying to get a check. MATC is college that treats us like an adult and not a child. They understand that in the real world we have to deal with mature responsible people, in the world they expect us to be responsible and mature.
