IWU felt like home and it is a very safe and friendly environment on campus. IWU has amazing facilities and an even more amazing campus life, sports/athletics and education. If you are looking for a smaller, religious, science and engineering based university then IWU is the place for you.

My opinions on Indiana Wesleyan University are that it seems like an amazing college/university, so much so that i am even planning to go for my studies and possibly become a professional pilot. The campus is nice and the dorms of which i was entertained to were very lovely and relatively spacious. The libarary also seemed quaint, quiet, and a sweet place to relax and in general, study. Inside of the student center there is not only food, but also a movie theatre in the middle of the building. The people there seemed kind, unobnoxious. They all stayed within their own business or groups' business while i was attending for my visit at the campus to see how it would be to stay there and do my classes. IWU has a large recreational center, at least in my opinion, having two gym sections, a basketball court, and a swimming pool. Outside on the grass in some area which i cannot remember of, perhaps between the dorms, there is a sand volleyball area for playing volleyball like it should be played. Not only that, another fun part of the recreational activities is that they have a "campus golf", the game being golf likely with clubs. The game as i was told, is done indoors with a tennis ball and when they play the game they set down some holes and greens if i remember correctly, so that seems extremely fun. I would say that Indiana Wesleyan University would be a nice place to stay at and go to, and i would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to go. In fact, another reason why i recommend it is due to them adding a professional pilot program to their classes. That is the class that i'll be taking, and i just simply recommend the school.

I loved the professors I got to meet. They made my visit to the University so compelling because they were passionate about their subjects, excited to meet and talk with me, and helpful in giving me the information I needed. The grounds were also very nice; there was lots of vegetation outside and it was neat and nice-looking inside. My experience in chapel was great; I appreciate that those planning my visit made that part of my time at the University. If I could change anything, I would like to have heard more about student bible studies, small groups, and other ministry organizations there.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back in time and talk to myself in my senior year of high school I would stress the most how important it is to be confident with yourself and try new things. The transition to college for me was rough because I was a bookworm. I was afraid to make friends even though I wanted to becasue I thought it would get in the way of my work. I was isolated and that led to developement problems within myself and my identity. People aren't going to bite you and you will never know what will happen until you try. It is important to reach out of your comfort zone and make good relationships with people so that when times get rough you have a support group. Don't isolate, congregate! That is the motto I would give my high school self when she was on the edge of entering the college world.

  10. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst thing about my school is probably that it has so little diversity. The number of racially diverse has increased this adademic school year, but the great majority of the school consists of white, middle to upper-middle class students from conservative backgrounds. I would love to see more students of different races and countries around the world. It would also be better if students and faculty were open to more discussion about new, original ideas and views that are not consistent with the perspectives of the majority.
