Garrett College is one of the best experiences I could ever have and I love wrestling and the academics there.

Garrett College provides newly-graduated high school students with a nice and smooth transition into college life. While there is a lack of some of the common college activities, such as sorority/fraternity groups, football team, etc., there are plenty of other groups and sporting teams that are available to students. The campus is very clean and provides students with a safe, comfortable area to study and hang out with other students. There are wonderful faculty members that are available to help students with any issues or concerns they may be having. The campus is rather small, but the class sizes are also small, so it is never overcrowded. Overall, Garrett College is a very chill and welcoming school that allows students to work towards their degree in a fun and fresh manner.

Overall this is a great school! Most of the facility contributed to my success while attending. The only reason I am giving three stars is because the housing situation. During COVID-19 the female to male ratio on the campus was very different. So I do not recommend living on campus as a young woman at this time. I also feel I have experienced discrimination as a woman by the RA Life Manager and I am not the only one to attest to this, other female students who work closely with the RA Life Manager said they too have felt uncomfortable about how he has handled some situations. I have heard opinions from male students also agreeing to the fact that the RA Life Manager can be "sexist". So if you are sending your daughter off to college I would just be mindful of this.

Garrett College is a good college especially for a lot of the local kids looking to further there education. It is a nice place to learn and the only downside I would say is that it is just not that big of a school. Most of the professors will help you as much as you need and they male themselves available a lot which is really nice is you are ever having any problems.

Garrett College FAQS

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Garrett College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Through college, I have learned much about myself as a person. So often, the worlds of higher education are accused of making their students conform to a certain way of thinking. While this exists in any experience throughout life, I wouldn't find this to especially be the case with higher learning. What I have found is that college has taught me speak for myself. I have learned to express what I feel with tact and, in the right circumstances, without inhibition. College provides students with a safe, stable environment for them to test their interests, and I have found this has helped me to develop creatively. So college has been a value for me to attend because an intellectual and adventurous side of myself has been discovered that might otherwise go unnoticed. College has not given me a distaste for education, but has instead helped me realize and cherish the importance of knowledge. Through mentors in colloege, I plan on pursuing my dreams and aspirations to the fullest.
