I have learned to be a true adult. I admit i am extremely immature, but living on my own and going to college i learned to grow up. I know i can still have fun but i also need to pay attention to surviving and making my dreams come true.

Besides the degree, plenty has been worth the college decision. It was very much a toss-up in my high school years as to if I even wanted to attend college, and if it would even benefit me at all; but I found a major I thought was right for me, and now I am pursuing it to the best of my ability. Never before have I been so motivated, and never before has everyone around me been so motivated with me. We are all growing together, and as impossibly lame as that may sound, it's what college seems to be all about. I feel like I can finally live my life without wondering what it is I am doing out there.

With too many career choices it is very difficult to decide on what to go to college for so the advice i would give to myself would be to pick 5 careers that i would be interested in and write each idea on a piece of paper put it in a hat shake it up close my eyes and pick one. And the trick would be to not question it just stay commited and focused because the goal would be to just accomplish the degree first and then i can change my mind after i finished my commitment to the choice i made. The most important thing in life to learn is how to make choices stick to them and follow through wtih those commitments.

I would tell myself that their is absolutely nothing to fear. The best thing to do is to step out of your comfort zone so that you may see the world in a new light in order to grow as a human being. You should always keep an open mind and never make quick judgments about people or situations. Keeping this mind set allows new and exciting experiences to show themselves to you. Be mindful of the future, luck favors the prepared.

As a quiet, shy teenager I had no plans on going to college, I wasn't sure what I wanted in life. During my junior year of high school I began to recevie brochures from colleges; one of the brochures was from Full Sail Real World Learning and I was hooked, I wanted to attend Full Sail; a GPA of 3.50 was required to be accepted , my high school GPA was very low. "Joshua, listen to me, I am Joshua of the future, you are a high school senior, time to concentrate on your class work and work to increase your GPA , isn't it you dream to attend Full Sail and pursue a career in game development? Joshua, it is time to stop "just getting by" and apply yourself, get your GPA up so that you may apply and be accepted to Full Sail. Also, look at paying for college, you know that Mom is just getting back on her feet from the divorce and the forced bankruptcy. Stand tall, get your grades up, apply for all the scholarships you are eligible for and pursue your dream for a career you will love and financial freedom."

Know who you are and what you want to do. Following your passion will give you the strength and focus to deal with all the details to get to where you want to be. That's the key. Then find a school that will be exciting and provide the best education and facilities. You have to be willing to commit to going out there in the world and not be afraid to do what needs to be done. When you love what you do, everything else falls into place.

If I could go back in time I would not only talk to myself but I would talk to all my friends as well. I would tell them, self included, that your education is not just something that your parents made or wanted you to do, just to be mean. Your education is what will excel and help you through lifes endevors, no matter how small or large. Open your mind and you will learn more than you ever thought you could, you will experience things that you never thought was possible and you will begin a journey that will not be an easy one, but one that once complete, will be the best experience of your life. College life will expand things in your mind that have been waiting to be unleashed, so welcome yourself to the journey that will guarantee knowledge, excitement and unforgetable experiences along the way.

Never let anyone tell you "You can't do it." If you have a dream. go for it. Strive to be the best of the best and never let anyone hold you back from accomplishing your goals. The biggest mistake you can make now is to slack-off and get caught up with the popular crowd. You'll end up regretting it when your $100,000 in debt like I am right now. Stay focused, and motivated. It will become your best friend. It will keep you going those nights where you felt like quitting and giving up. It will give you the life and air when you feel like you cant breathe because your overwhelmed with what you got yourself into. Always keep moving forward and don't let anyone bring you down with their words and actions. Be tough. Pull through, beacause their's light at the end of the tunnel. The question is... How bad do you want it?
