I enjoy attending FTCC I have been a student since 2004, graduating with an adult high school diploma in 2006. Attending FTCC again in 2014 for business administration then studying in the medical field. I will recommend FTCC to others and will have my children attend when they get older.

Fayetteville Technical Community College is a great place to go if you want to get a degree without the typical college experience. It's a great place for adults looking to continue their education and recently graduated high schoolers wanting to knock out some credits before a big university.

It’s nothing special but it has the best local ADN program. I cannot speak for other programs but I know there are several continuing education programs in the health field, even if you aren’t interested in a degree program! Campus is located in the worst part of town, which is probably the biggest downside. Most professors are mediocre at best, at least the ones I have encountered. They all seem to have a reluctance to help students and have an attitude.

For me, Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) has been a godsend. As a spouse of an active duty soldier it is difficult to obtain a college degree as it is dependent on factors out of my control. The fact that there is a Junior College close to post has made my dream of going back to school possible. While my courses have all been online, I have used the many services at my J.C. countless times for a plethora of reasons. Sometimes I go to sit and brainstorm with my instructors or advisors, other times it is to have a writing professional look over my paper, and other times I go to buy/return materials from their bookstore, library, or simply to check in with their Disability Office to make sure I'm utilizing every resource available to me as it is of the utmost importance that I am a highly successful student. I am grateful for the time I have spent at my school, for the guidance I have received from knowledgeable and patient staff, and for their quick adaptability during this pandemic that we're all trying to navigate through. The location of the school is unfortunate in regards to crime and demographics, but in the very same breath, this community needs FTCC as it serves as a beacon of hope and change for those who might not consider higher learning otherwise. They may not have as many classes to offer as my JC's in the past, but that's okay as this is still far better than not having any other in-person options. It is what you make of it and I have chosen to milk my school for all that I can so that when I transfer, I am well received and well prepared.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Out of my college experience I learned how to be more responsible. College life isn't like high schoo you have to make sure you make it to all your classes on time and you also have to learn to manage your classes right. For example I picked all my classes in the morning so I can get them out the way early and to also be able to have time to study and do homework and to go to work after. In college teachers don't help you out as much as they do in high school, so I have build better study habits. College is alot harder then high school so you as a student have the responsibility to keep up with all your work and make sure you turn them in on time cause you can't risk to have missing work.

I go to school with a wide variety of people so it is hard to group them in 1 category let alone one sentence, but if i have to choose i would say that we are all dedicated by just starting school a couple of weeks ago, we have had 4 quizzes and a chapter test in my math class all of us are passing so far and we have all been out of school for at least a semester especially since most of us work during the day, go to school at night , and have kids and/or spouses.

The best aspect of my school is the opportunity to complete classes online. I am a busy mother and wife that works fulltime and if I would not have had the opportunity to complete my degree online it would have been almost impossible for me. The campus is conveniently located so if I have the need I can visit to complete taks.

I recently moved from Augusta, Georgia to Fayetteville, North Carolina. I just got my money in the correct order so I can go to school, work, and find time for my child and spouse. It has given me (and a couple of my classmates and friends) a better and realistic look on life.
