Eastern Connecticut State University is a fantastic school. For those living in Connecticut, it is close by and relatively affordable. You can choose to live on campus. But if that doesn’t suit you, off campus housing is available as well. The professors here know what they are talking about and truly care for their students. They are also always ready to lend a helping hand to those who are struggling.

This is the ABSOLUTE WORST school I have EVER attended. I came in as a transfer student, and I was taken as a joke. ECSU forced me to take MULTIPLE classes I had already takeN. I had to fight with the Dean in order to have my previous schools classes and credits be acknowledged. Advisers were COMPLETELY UNWILLING to help me search for classes and prioritize classes. I met with who I THOUGHT was my advisor (according to web) and she had NO IDEA WHO I WAS. This is the WORST excuse of a college ever. I would not recommend this college to my worst enemy. STAY FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL.

The faculty and staff are attentive to students and their issues. They ensure we are put in the best spot to be successful in class as well as in the real world when it becomes time to apply for jobs and start a career. The connections you will make are second to none and it is worth the nearly four years I have attended.

Eastern is a decent school! It initially wasn't my first choice but they gave me a lot of money. My first year was so much fun. I met a lot of people and academics were very good. The professors were available almost all the time and were very friendly. If you like a small campus and small classes then Eastern is the school for you. The school has daily fun activities to get the students involved which love. I do not regret going to a liberal arts college because I know I will graduate from being a well-rounded person.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

As a high school senior I was nurvose to attend college. I was afraid to go far away to school because of the close bond that my family and I share. I now know that being away from home is not as scary as people make it out to be. I would encourage myself to look into further schools down south. I love the warm weather but I was too afraid to pick as school far away. That is my one regret as a highschool senior. I should have went into an indepth search and researched schools that were in a warmer climate. Making friends is easy. All college freshmen are in the same boat as you are. hardly anyone knows people and they are all in a search for friends. I would tell myself that making friends is a fun and easy experience and to never hold back.

  6. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The fact that there is not enough information about interships easily available to the students. Not enough activities that prepare the students after they graduate from school. So they can take life by the horns and be able to face anything that come thier way. To give students information regarding options related to money so that they will have multiple streams of income instead of just one. Stuff like that, also life skills such as people related that enchance the persons personality and character. That really grows the individual

  11. What kind of person should not attend this school?

Students should not attend this school if they like a larger campus that is in a city or resides in a "college-town." Eastern Connecticut State Unviersity (ECSU) is a small, community-based school with has a smaller class size. The surrounding area is not a typical college-town, but has some nice restaurants and businesses. ECSU also has a dry campus, so students looking for alcohol and parties should not attend this school.

  12. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

I like to brag about the fact that everybody is really close with each other at Eastern. It is a small school and a small campus and while many would consider this a disadvantage, I consider it an advantage because it forces you to meet new people when you first come. Overall, having a small campus is nice because there is less trecking through the snow storms and the rain to get to class.

The most frustrating thing about Eastern is the fact that everybody leaves on the weekends. This hurts the social scene quite a bit. Also, the services offered on campus are not of the best quality.
