Davidson is located in a college town and is a very intimate community. Students learn immediately how close-knit the campus is but students also learn how closely intertwined the campus and community are as well.
One experience I won't forget was this year's basketball season. There was so much excitement about the NCAA and when we beat Georgetown for a spot in the sweet sixteen there was an overwhelming amount of excitement. No classes were cancelled so that students could attend the game, however, the trustees decided to pay for every student to go to the game if they wanted to. Trustees' paid for the tickets, the bus to Detroit and the hotel. It was amazing to see so many students be able to support their school 13 hours up the road. We made it to the Elite Eight and even though we lost and didn't get to the Final Four the entire town was rejoicing. I returned from Detroit to see the homes of Davidson with signs supporting our team. It was wonderful to see everyone so proud of the campus and it was definitely one of the most memorable times of my freshman year.

One of the greatest things about Davidson is that you are constantly surrounded by quality people. Everyone has something amazing to contribute, and it is stimulating to be in this atmosphere.

School pride is absolutely amazing. With nearly 25{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the student body participating in Division I athletics, students go to games and meets to cheer on their friends and classmates. With the small size, Davidson fosters a close knit community that is really there for one another.

i love davidson. i think i picked the right school for me. the academics are challenging, yet classes are small and professors are very friendly and accessible. i love that i can be on a competitive swim team also and hang out with lots of athletes. there are enough religious opportunities for me on campus, yet i don't always feel that i have enough religious friends. the people here are exceptional in many ways, and i have awesome friends. the excessive eating disorders are one aspect however, that i strongly dislike. these disorders are very often contagious.

The best thing about Davidson is the people. The close community here at Davidson is much unlike the real world...it's way better. The school is small, but I no where near know everyone. The people who chose to go here love it, and they know why.

Best thing: on campus community, including relationships with faculty

Davidson is a small liberal arts school with only 1700 students. Few people know about Davidson, but name recognition did not deter me. The town of Davidson is very freindly and welcoming, but should definately be considered a town, not a city. The administaration takes as many steps as necessary to cater to the needs of the student. Our president is currently leading a major review of the college to see what improvements are necessary. Davidson has a lot of school pride.

The basketball team has really increased the school spirit and really made Davidson more known around the country.

best thing about davidson is the sense of community. being an athlete provides you with an automatic family and community of friends that i wouldn't have gotten anywhere else.

Well rounded motivated people go to Davidson. People work hard, play hard, exercise, and volunteer. there are alot of type A people at Davidson, but everyone is very nice. Not katty. Davidson is special because the administration causes the most about student happiness and well being. Davidson students are treated very well. The honor code is also a huge part of Davidson. Unsupervised take home tests are common.
