The best thing about Davidson is definately the people. Coming from New York, I love how friendly the entire college and town community is. The community members even bake the entire school cookies before finals to help us relax! This small and friendly community also made Davidson's recent run to the Elite Eight even more special because the whole community came together and was so supportive of the team. The trustees even paid for all the students to go to Detroit to watch the sweet 16 and elite 8 games! This bond between the community and college from intense school spirit is something that larger schools miss out on. In the same breath, the small campus does have it's drawbacks since word seems to spread fast, and you are almost guarenteed to run into people you meet on the weekends again (so beware!). This also means that there is only one bar in the town, but I personally think this helps increase class unity since Thursday night is unofficially (maybe officially?) senior night at the bar.

I love Davidson, and I do not think I would ever want to change its size. What I would change is what people know about it. I wish people knew how hard we work here. I also wish that we did not have such deflated grades because if a person/grad school does not know Davidson and you tell them you have a 3.0, well you do not seem as smart as you really are.

I love Davidson. I love that it is small and every time I walk to class I run into people that I know. People are very friendly. I also like that we are in a small town and I dont have to worry about walking around at night or having a lot of strangers on campus. There are so many great things. The board giving us the money to go to Detroit was awesome.

Davidson is obviously a small school but there are so many great people here worth meeting. People who know about colleges, know about Davidson. Its a great school.

I love my college, but I didn't always. It has been a tough adjustment. All the students at Davidson are amazing in their own way and that take some getting used to. Students here are so high achieveing that they can be sometimes wrapped up in completeing all the tasks and dealing with the pressure. Such a phenomena effects health, social interactions, service, and community relations. However, the atmosphere on Davisdson's campus in unlike any other. It is truly a community. The student body is very cohesive. Combined with the honor code and adminstration the deeply cares about its students, Davidson encourages the entire college experience. It also inspires careful conscious reflection about our interaction with the world. Town of Davidson reflects this by embracing the students as members. To illustrate the strength of the Davidson spirit, one only has to look around the campus. Students are likely to be engaged with each other, stopping to talk to friends all over campus. Davidson college clothing is very likely to be seen. A friend who recently visited noticed that almost every car in the parking lot had a Davidson sticker.

I adore Davidson. It was my first choice. Although no one knew about d-son when i applied, because of our basketball success that has changed. it infuriated me that people thought i was going to a bad school simply b/c they hadnt heard of it. and now its awesome that everyone knows how awesome davidson is. The fact that the davidson trustees paid for everyone to go to detroit for the elite 8 basketball game is a memory i'll never forget

Small school but a good environment that is very open. You can walk everywhere on campus easily, including the town of Davidson. Davidson is known for two things in particular: our basketball team and our laundry service.

I LOVE THE STUDENTS, TEACHERS, TOWNSPEOPLE, THE PEOPLE WHO CLEAN OUR DORMS AND THE PEOPLE WHO WORK IN THE FOOD SERVICES-- The people, the people, the people. I can't imagine going to any other school in the world. I absolutely love the town itself as well, and plan on living here when I get older. Everyone here is also proud to be at Davidson and excited about learning. Although we get stressed and tired at times, when it comes down it, we all really like doing well and working hard to succeed in school. I'll never forget when the Trustees bought us buses to go to the games in Detroit! Almost all the students went and forgot about work for the weekend to enjoy that once in a lifetime experience. I love walking around outside between classes and always finding someone to talk to. And it's not just the students, but also the teachers. Sometimes I randomly show up at my professors' offices just to chat and hang out with them!

We have a small school with a great community feel. It might seem too small to some, but not even the seniors graduating know everyone in their graduating class that they have been with for four years. Everyone's so nice and welcoming.
