Concordia University-Nebraska (or CUNE) is the best college I've attended. The people at CUNE are amazing. Professors here are more accessible than those at the previous colleges. They not only care about how well you’re doing in class, but also genuinely care about how you as a person are doing, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. For instance, one of my professors sent out an email to all of us, checking in with each of us to see how we were doing and if there was anything he could help with. He even encourages us to set a time with him to meet with him in person during his office hours, if needed. No other professors in at my previous colleges did this. It also helps that the class sizes are not very big. There aren’t these massive seminar rooms with a hundred students in them. I don’t feel like I’m just another number lost in a sea of students. I feel comfortable talking in class and the teacher knows me by name. It’s an experience I hope that I’ll be able to continue.

Great School, Love the community, evreyone is so nice and makes you feel welcomed. I play on the football team there, its like a family. Couldn't have asked for a better place to change as a better man, and guide me onto my next steps after college! Its helped me grow so much as a student athlete and a better person. Here you will make lifelong friends and build memories of a lifetime!

Concordia University Nebraska is a private Lutheran university that has a surprising number of international students and leadership opportunities. We have a competitive speech team, both wonderful arts and music programs, and countless sports opportunities. We have a variety of on-campus hall options but we also have many off-campus housing options. The office staff is friendly and helpful and the cafeteria food is overall satisfactory. Concerning opportunities for employment, the university offers positions in the library, in the cafeteria, with buildings and grounds, as a Resident Assistant or Resident Coordinator, writing for the school newspaper, and there are many off-campus employment options. Students tend to be friendly and professors are overall very good with instructing and teaching students. I would rate Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska a solid 9 out of 10.

This is the most welcoming, family-oriented, and Christ-centered campus I have ever boasted and I visited a couple other private Christian institutes as well. Not only are the students who attend very open and friendly to meet new people, the professors are also rather kind and go out of their way to meet the needs of their students, and I have never felt more at home than when I’m living on campus here at CUNE. This is my home. I have already attended here for one year and have grown so much in my faith, developing Christ-centered relationships, and a lot of confidence in the person I am becoming.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

College is much harder than high school. You need to develope good study habits, finding a quiet place outside of the dorm room is a great place to study so that things like video games and roommates are not a distraction. It is good to think of school as a full time job. During the day you are gonna have breaks in between classes, so if you go to class and do homework from 8 to 4 just like a full time job then you will have the nights to do what you like. College is all about planning and time mannagement. Unlike high school you can't just breeze through college. You need to be focused and stay on top of your studies so that when you have to travel for sports you won't get behind. Good Luck.

  9. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing is probably the lack of diversity. Located in a small town in Nebraska, there isn't a lot of diversity in this area anyway, and most students who come here come for the conservative, Christian, small town environment. It's really nice and I enjoy that people here share and support my values, but it would be great to get more foreign exchange students to come here to provide more exposure to other cultures.
