Professors here seem to care quite a bit about thyeir students. i never really have professors here that know my name, unless it is a small class.

Academics at CSU are very good I think. The professors are all pretty good that I have had anyway. Class participation is ver common depending on what class it is. I feel that the requirements for graduation are very reasonable. I think they prepare you well for a job.

The class sizes range from 300+ person to 10 people. Its a good mixture to find new ways to learn.
Tim
Classes are good sized, maybe a little large for Freshman level courses. Most assignments are written not multiple choice which I really enjoy. You learn a lot more from writing a paper than taking a scantron.
Kim
The professors would like to know everyone but with the classes as big as they are it is almost impossible for them to get to know students. The professors want to help the students as much as they can. They have office hours so the student can come to the professor and recieve one on one attention.
Kate
Class are hard adn rigurous and the professors really know a lot about their topics.

Most do know my name or at least that I am a familiar face. Marketing would be my favorite class and CIS is the least favorite. CSUand the curriculum is geared toward straining the mind and preparing you for the business world.
Daniel
I have not encountered any proffesors out side of classes. Students here are very competative.

profs are great, career potential is amazing, and our reputation will get me far. students are not competitive. my major is landscape horticulture and its reputation is incredible. my advisor/prof is more than helpful.

I think its kind of hard for professors to know their students names, unless you are in a smaller class. I think if you want the professor to know you then you need to go to office hours and let them get to know you and ask for help. They have so many studnets they have to get to know. Smaller classes and classes for your major however I think it is easier for the professor to get more one on one time with and get to know you better. My favorite class is public speaking. I thought I would hate it but its interesting and I think it will help you in the future. My least favorite class was nutrition because I didnt like the professor. He made the topic boring and hard to learn becasue he was monotone. Lots of students have intellegent and non intellegent converstations all the time, in and out side of class. I think the key is learning how to study the material for class. Its hard to pass if you cant grasp the concept when you study. I think CSU has good academic requirements. Its well rounded.
