Colorado State University-Fort Collins Top Questions

What are the academics like at Colorado State University-Fort Collins?

Kristen

Most of my classes are large, but have a smaller recitation or lab that meets once a week which make the bigger classes not feel overwhelming. Class participation is not very common in my larger classes but is very common in the smaller classes. I feel professors are easy to get ahold of outside of class whenever I need help.

Id say for the most part students only study when they abosolutly need to. and this is conveyed through how crowded the library gets thorwds midterms and final week. CSU students are defiently ready to get a job once out of school

Although many freshman or sophomore classes range from 30-400 people, it is not difficult to get to know your professor. If the student really wants to get to know the professor, it is not hard at all. After being at CSU 2 semesters, I have learned that you can make a classroom as big as you want. If you want a class of 20 students all you have to do is sit in the front row. Professors get to know you if you sit in the front, and often you come to spend time with professors outside of class as well. However, if a student does not want to be a part of a small class all you have to do is sit near the back. You blend in and can do as you please which is a nice freedom, but comes with responsibility.

I think you get a good education but the requirements are kinda retarded at times because i didn't apply for the bus. school right out of high school like some other people did and now i have to bust ass to try and get in and i am doing much better in all my classes than some of the people i know who are already in the school of business.

David

I think my favorite class would have to be my 420 entreprenuership class I feel I am learning a great deal about opening a business and i think I am ahead of the game in terms of how more prepared than others from taking this calss.

Jenna

Favorite Class- Insects, Science and Society- the professor (Dr. Cranshaw) was awesome. Least favorite class: POLS 131- poorly designed and no book.

Paige

academics seem much more difficult than at UCD, but i'm really enjoying my classes and all of my teachers.

Rachel

The core classes are way too large!

Although i sit in the front and have talked to some teachers i dont believe that many of them if any know my name. Class participation is great in all my classes. My major is merchandising i havent done much for it but so far its a blast. I believe that CSU and its students are geared towards getting a job.

The teachers are all very kind and willing to help you if you seek their help. At least the teracher's i've had. They have their office hours, and if students chose to use them, then they can excell even further.
