Describe the students at Brown University.

Natalie

Curious, generous, and broad-minded intellectually and politically, but sometimes insular socially.

Sargon

My Brunonian classmates are self-aware, engaging, and wickedly intelligent students, who are as independent in their thinking and behavior as they are comfortable taking it easy or

Jimmy

Amazingly passionate--about something, or even everything! Our curriculum is completely open to your imagination, so it comes as no surprise that most of the students here are the ones who are self-motivated to pursue their own passions. The unsuccessful students are the ones who can't seem to find a passion. The culture is very supportive and open. Cliques exist, but they are extremely liquid, constantly morphing and melding and mixing. They exist only because you can't be friends with everyone on campus. Students are predominantly left, and only the most courageous right are outspoken--most conservatives hide their political affiliation. No one talks about how much they'll earn one day, but maybe that's because I didn't party with the investment bankers. Brown students are from all over the country and from all different kinds of backgrounds. Most have financial means, but there are a significant number who are on grants, scholarships, and loans. It is, after all, a need blind school. Everyone goes to class casual, dressing to impress only for the nicest of social events.

Sara

My classmates, though sometimes timid at first, are intelligent, inspired, and engaged, though sometimes I wonder if they just like to hear themselves talk.

Ashley

Friendly, Independents, quirky, caring, smart.

David

Very friendly and funny, they are all original. Genuine personalities and interesting stories are commonplace, and most are eager to meet new people. Sometimes they may seem a bit too out of the box, but there are always others like them. If you're a unique individual, or just open minded, and are searching for others like you or new ideas Brown University is the place for you.

Daniel

Wealthy, spoiled, out of touch with the real world, but, for the most part, academically motivated.
