I really enjoyed Westminster college. I lived in the dorms for 3 years until I got married my senior year. There are apartments all around the campus. The Education Department was awesome and I had some amazing professors who were very supportive and helped me.

I love it here but living on campus as a freshman can sometimes leave much to be desired. There are no elevators in freshman housing and the hot water has been unavailable a couple of times. the laundry is $2.50 per completely laundry cycle (wash and dry) and the digital payment mechanism is finicky and now and again does not always work, so is best to just use coins. Disability services since I've enrolled has gone down hill since I've arrive here so you have to be ready to fight for accommodation if you need them. The dining hall is highly repetitive and after sometime feels boring and bland. I recommend having some money to use of outside food. But oh my goodness, the small campus size is great for me, and I can't walk long distances. and the library, where I have work study, is the perfect place to study. The faculty is incredibly great. Of course I can't give all of them five stars much the vast majority are wonderful. The classes are great and are challenging, but not terribly so. Just enough so I feel it and am truly learning. Also, there are many inclusionary groups: Disability Justice, Black Excellence, Raíces Unidas, AAPI Life, and I believe there is a multi-faith group as well. There is also a group for First Gen students that offers a book scholarship. For First Scholars you must apply, though.

I have always loved this college! It is what I have been looking for. Smaller classes and such professionalism, you're not just a number. the feeling I get for everyone that I have talked to is that they want you to succeed. The grounds are so well kept and clean and I felt very safe. I am a non traditional student returning to college. I look forward to attending this prestigious school and graduating with honors.

Westminster is a great school! Westminster offers many scholarships opportunity which was very important for me since I am a first-generation college student and was worried about how I was going to pay for college. The average class size is 12-24 students. The small class size allows professors to get to know their students. Professors are easily accessible either through office hours or email.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Location and learning environment are the most important factors in choosing a college that is the right fit for you. It is important that the area that you will be attending college at has things that interest you around it, whether that be the ocean, large cities, or mountains. Fun outdoors excercise is important to a healthy body and clear mind, and it is essential that you are able to participate in these activites that are fun, social, and benefitial to your health all at the same time. It is imporant that you can find a refuge in nature to escape the stresses of schooling at some point. 3. Describe the students at your school.

There are a lot of rich white kids that are here on Daddy's money to play video games and snowboard, and also Mormon kids who weren't quite up to snuff to get into BYU. Stay away fromt hose kids. If you know what to look for, you will find some intellectuals who know what's up. There are also a good deal of Chinese exchange students that you should take the time to get to know.

  13. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

College is a completely different culture. You find yourself in this chaotic frenzy of things going on, things you have to do and large transition from what you know to the clueless. I was always told how different college was but i was independent and didn’t need support in high school to do well so I shrugged it off. I was ignorant. The people, the individual cultures, the activities and the experience are incredible and they will change you for life. It is a new world that is unbelievable, be ready to have your eyes opened & your character shifted.

Westminster College combines the aesthetic appeal and easy accessibility of Utah with the feel of an East Coast school. Teachers work with students individually, and because Westminster isn't a university, the quality of teaching is better. The teachers are there for students and because they love to teach. The professors are completely dedicated. I couldn't think of a more perfect school - Westminster has everything!

  16. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating things at my school is parking; there are not enough parking spots. Getting into classes you need for your major is now hard, because of the student population is growing so fast, the school is not getting more professors to accommodate the growth. Cafeteria is awful, there is only 1 on campus and the selection on entries are constant, need variety.

  20. What are your classes like?

Almost all my classes at Westminster have been great so far, however, as a chemistry major, my classes are naturally very difficult. Every week in my organic chemistry class we have work in the lab, in which we must write our procedure before hand, answer pre-lab questions, and then spend four hours in the lab. We must then write a post lab, answer post lab questions, and write about chemistry. It is very much work to do, and to finish all the work along with all the work from other classes such as physics and calculus, is like trying to cut down a tree with a feather. The upside is that we have great teachers who are always happy to help us.

  21. Tell us about the sports scene on campus.

Dumke field is the best place to play sports. It is a turf field where any student can go to play as long as the lacrosse or soccer team is not using it. Payne gymnasium and the Health and Wellness center are also great places to play indoors, swim in a shallow pool, and get exercise. Many clubs such as the swim club, indoor soccer club, ski and snowboard club, water polo club, quidditch club, and many more active clubs will definitely keep you busy in the world of sports. The volleyball net in the sand pit and the wide open spaces to play frisbee will also be a great place for you to relax and have fun.
