The town my school is located in, Bellingham, has everything you need, but there isn't too many people. And there is an abundance of opportunity for recreation. There's a new recreation center on campus, which is exceptional. There is also an outdoor center that provides a lot of opportunities and help with outdoor recreation. There were only a few schools in my state that offered the program I was interested in, and I chose Western because it was the easiest transition for me socially, economically, academically, religiously and recreationally.

Western is the ideal liberal arts school...it is a small state school that is very diverse in its nature. the professors tend to be leading people in their fields and they simply. The choices on has while at western are incredible. You can literally do anything you want through the university. Every sport is available or can be made available. Every activity can be done. The school is very relaxed and tends to be a generally good place to learn.

Everyone is generally very friendly. And there are no fraternities or sororities.

I was most attrcted to the size, location, and feeling of Western Washington University. WWU felt safer and more open than the other schools I considered. I like being in a small city (Bellingham) , surrounded by trees on a campus small enough to walk across in 15 minutes. My school is also very pround of its arts - and that is very important to me as a theatre major. WWU is also well known as a liberal school, which made me feel more comfortable as a bisexual atheist.
