I love my HBCU. I came to Virginia Union University at 19 and I’m 25 now. This school was one of many I applied to and I was well accompanied from check-in up to now. I love the band here. My favorite thing about being at VUU was waking up to hearing the band practice outside my window. Morning, Noon & NIGHT.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If i could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would tell myself do the research on the school that I plan on attending. Find out if they have activities you want to participate in. See do they offer your major. Go visit the school before you make any decisions and know they school history. It's not like high school, there's things that you will experience that will change your life completely. Get to know your surrounding because your parents can't get to you as fast being almost two hours away. College will test your strengths and abilities. You will encounter alot of different people from all over. The last thing I would say is watch who you can trust and be active at the school. You meet new people and break you out of being shy. It will help keep you busy because it's what you make of it.

  10. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing about my school is that if we wanted to go somewhere, we couldn't have no transportation to come to the school and take us to certain places like the mall, out to different restaurants, and things like that. We had to use our transportation or just walk there. One of the most frustrating things about my school is that we always have such nasty bathrooms, not flushing the toilet, and mostly not washing hands. In the fire alarms, it takes long as the fire marshal to come in and turn the alarm.
