What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back in time?in all honesty?I would tell myself to first, enjoy and partake in more or most of the senior-bonding activities. I would tell myself to join the exuberant water balloon fight of ?09(?no one got in trouble) and the senior circle during the last football game (?no, your big brother is not going to get mad for making him wait to pick you up). Second, I would tell myself, that even if you choose to stay at home and live with your parents during college, it won?t set you back from having the best, most awesome freshmen year (?or at least first semester). Third, I would tell myself to look back at freshmen year of high school and just trust that your first year of college is so much better (?tons more enthralling, nerve-wracking, and even inspirational). Lastly forth, I would tell myself to get ready, because your real grown-up life hasn?t begun?so as a senior, live-up (to the fullest) your last year.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing would be the facilities. The cost to attend this school is very high, and none of the money you fork out shows on campus. The classrooms are mostly old and outdated, some employees are unprofessional, and the shuttle service is very slow and not reliable. I would expect to attend classes in a nicer environment with the high tuition costs.

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about the University of the Incarnate Word is the fellow students learning habits. Many of the students are not achieving academic greatness and this sets others back. The teachers, instead of failing the student tend to push the high achieving students back. The high level of push back and the lack of knowledge that can be obtained is by far the most annoying part of the campus atmosphere. The University of the Incarnate Word could accelerate but, it is being pushed back by the students and the teachers sympathy for the students.

What kind of person should attend this school?
If you are looking for a party type of school, then the University of the Incarnate Word is not for you. At Incarnate Word, students seem to have a higher standard compared to other colleges. There are expectations of integrity, honesty, loyalty, and just living right because it is the right thing to do. I believe that these standards raise the students at my college to a higher bar, and better prepare them for their life after college. So if a student wants to be respected and develop their character, then this is the school for them.

Describe your favorite campus traditions.
For twenty-four years it?s been a tradition for my school to hang millions of lights throughout its campus for the holiday season. It?s called, ?Light the Way,? and it?s a beautiful sight to see when it occurs. Not only does it provide a time for friends and family to congregate, but it also supports a charitable cause. Everyone who attends is given the opportunity to donate toys for needy children of San Antonio. To me my school is best known for trying to give everyone happiness, be it through a superior education or even toys.
