Pretty diverse student body. Not very political.

I have not come in contact with a lot of racism and I personally have been in an inter-racial relationship the whole time I have attended UNCG. When it comes to class attire, people wear anything, and i mean anything! You will have students in pj pants and a sweatshirt to a nice dress. You can wear anything you want and no one cares. I would say most students at our school are very liberal, we are not a conservative school in no means.

I really like that UNCG is a socially-active campus. Students care about world issues: such as voting, the environment, the war in the Sudan, and other human rights conflicts. UNCG is also a campus that believes in Service. “Service” is UNCG's motto, and I feel that students really believe in helping people and they believe that normal people can make a change in the world. I have been able to help my community through programs that UNCG offers, and I think that I am a better person because I came to UNCG.

UNCG is quite a diverse environment compared to many other campuses. Most of the students come from middle-income families who seem down-to-earthand and are in-state.It is a very liberal atmosphere with extremes to both sides.

liberal college, for the most part. sometimes there will be an angry guy yelling about how you're a slut and going to hell, but most people ignore him.

As previously stated, there is racial tension in Greensboro, and at UNCG...plus there are a lot of "weird people" who congregate together. The frat/sorority people hang together, the black people hang together, the music ppl hang together, the theather ppl, the dance ppl, and the sports players hang together. There is some mixing, but on the whole not much. Most of uncg students are from NC, fewer are out-of-state. A lot of ppl are democrat. They have been trying to get everyone registered to vote on campus lately...and then to get you to vote for Obama. Its kinda annoying. I think though, most students aren't very politically aware, or at least the ones I know LOL.

LGBT is very big at UNCG little relgious stuff. finances are medium.

There are literally all different types of people. You don't feel out of place no matter who you are. There are also different clubs to be involved in whether you want to be around others like you or get to know new types of people. UNCG students are from all over. That's probably why they all seem so different, even finanially. Some may be on scholarship, while others paying out of state tuition and you would never know one's status. You can really be yourself here. In high school, you may have felt you had to dress a different way, but here it doesn't matter, b/c more than likely you wont see a lot of people again and the ones who you will wont judge you. UNCG is a very comforting campus.

One word can wrap that up: Diverse
Ryan
The student body as a whole is VERY diverse. As a campus we are big on DIVERSITY and UNCG has promoted that aspect.
