The kind of person that should attend this school is someone who, one enjoys a small town atmosphere, two is very sociable, and three is a hard worker. Because though UMass is a very large and has a lot of social activity going on, the university puts a real big emphasis on academics.

Someone who is outgoing and is eager to take advantage of all there is to offer. It's a big school, but that means it has alot more to offer. If you take the time to look for something to do or a group to get involved in you won't be dissapointed. There is always something going on and you can get as involved as you want.

Someone who is open to new ideas and would not be overwhelmed by such a large campus with a large student body would find UMass to be a good fit. There are many outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing, and because its such a big campus and requires a lot of walking, someone who is more active would adjust well to this campus.
