In my honest opinion UConn Waterbury is a great smaller campus for those who are looking for a more intimate college experience. At first glance the Waterbury campus might not seem like the best since it is a lot smaller than the other regionals, however the professors and staff make it feel more inviting. Since it is smaller, it forces students to engage in conversation and befriend on another so much so that whenever you walk into the lobby there are groups of people communicating. Overall it is a great campus and it has been my home for the past 3 years.

Meaghan - 04/03/2019

As an alum, I was pretty satisfied with my experience at University of Connecticut Tri-Campus. I liked that the tuition was reasonable and I was able to complete my degree at that campus without having to go to UConn Storrs. Though it was a tiny campus, they offered space to lounge inside and outside, had a okay sized library and co-op. I enjoyed the professors I got to know. If you are someone who is looking for the complete college experience, large campus, living at school, partying and etc, then I would not recommend University of Connecticut Tri-Campus. One thing I found was that this was a good campus to start your degree and eventually transfer to UConn Storrs if you'd like.

Orin - 02/16/2019

To be honest, the school is not that much different from my high school. It's safe, the faculty are friendly at most, and life there is average. The campus is smaller, which means it's easy generally to access professors if there's a reason for it. I prefer this campus than the main one(Storrs).

Madison - 05/22/2018

This school is a great choice for students who want to commute to school and maybe are not ready to dorm or cannot afford it. All staff is accommodating given the commuter aspect of the school. Clubs are limited but there are other opportunities to get involved at school events.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

In August of 2009 I was just starting college as a freshman, and although I was new, I really loved the experience. Each class was full of diversity and new information, which really expanded my mind. However in January 2010, I was in a fatal hit and run car accident in which I was the victim, being hit by another driver who later turned himself in. I had fractured my pelvis, fractured my skull, broke my jaw, broke my nasal passageway, broke several bones in my face, and sustained multiple lacerations. The other driver who had no license or insurance, left me for dead, however I made it through. Life is short, and tomorrow may never come, so I would like to make the most out of my today. My experiences in college made me realize there is so much in life I have yet to learn, and from now forward, is my time to excel and reach every goal I have set for myself. Keeping positive, and motivating myself I plan to continue through college, not only learning, but making it as far as I can.

  3. What's unique about your campus?

I think the best thing about my school is all the social events they hold for the students to basically enjoy the 'college student life'. There is always so many activites that keep you interested, and make the campus fun. I attended some events such as the The Red Cross Blood drive, Volunteer Services, and Benefit events. I also believe the knowledge the professors hold, in which they teach their students, is essential to having an excellent college experience.
