The baseball team is lead by a head coach who does not care about professionalism or player responsibility. When concerns are brought to the attention of the athletic director, he comes up weak and disingenuous excuses to cover up for the head coach's moral and ethical deficiencies. Besides enabling the head coach to undermine the development of the players both on and off the field, the athletic directror has shown that UConn Avery Point has little interest in enforcing UConn's ideals and mission statement. It is clear that this university does not teach, or value, the qualities that are necessary to be successful in life. I'm not sure why anyone would want their son or daughter to go there, or make donations to UConn Avery Point (especially to the baseball program). If interested, I have a full discussion about the unprofessional and irresponsible behavior that the head coach allowed while coaching the Danbury Westerners this past summer on my channel where I discuss in detail why, I believe, the head coach is unfit to lead the Avery Point baseball team.

It’s a great place and connections can be made quite easily. Most professors are amazing and understanding, however some professors are basically the opposite. The campus is stunning and right by the ocean, pretty much everyone is nice and welcoming. Also Morts cafe is very good and has quality food.

Matthew - 12/19/2020

Personally, I have not had a great experience. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there are very few classes on campus and students mainly do their work from home. I can’t blame the teachers for their inability to adapt to the online scene, but many of my professors take up to a week to respond to emails, as well as grade work. I blame the school itself and the administration for not correctly preparing the teachers. I have one teacher who is pretty understanding of how students aren’t adapting well to distant learning but the rest of them treat it like we are still in class and have the ability to talk to them. Many classes are almost impossible to learn online and teachers don’t understand that. If the school would allow more in person classes and trained teachers to adapt to distant learning I would have no complaints. Overall the campus is great but I haven’t even been there yet. I have faith in the school but they have a lot of work to do.

It is a very good school. Most of the classes here are small about 20 people but there are one or two classes that are over 70 people. The teachers here are very nice and they are often available. There is only one resturant (Morts) at the school but the food there tastes pretty good especially the french fries. There is no on campus housing but you could rent a nearby apartment.

  3. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I consider the worse part to be that their are people that don't even consider my school Uconn. That on the place mat of a popular resturant up the road they have a map and they don't even recgonize my school. That is the worst part because I am as much of a Husky as the students who attend the storrs campus.

  4. Describe your favorite campus traditions.

My school is best known for its' strong marine science/maritime studies program. We have a beautiful campus located a stone's throw away from the beach, with a gorgeous view and great scenery. The campus is extremely small, but it's fun that everybody knows everybody and all my professors have been great.
