What is the stereotype of students at University of Chicago?

Angelica

Bookworms, nonsocial, elitist, pompous, spoiled rich kids, fun comes to die here, there is nothing to do, everyone goes to the reg on Saturday night

annie

ugly, socially awkward, no fun

Jesse

Hardcore academic school with socially reatarded people who do nothing but play chess and awkwardly push their glasses up on faces contorted in strange, awkward laughter.

Tristan

Oh, where to begin. A typical UChicago student is: ugly, nerdy, socially awkward (as well as anti-social), quirky, and never stops studying. Whether you find these traits charming is somewhat subjective, but the real beauty of these stereotypes is that we embrace them on cloth. You'll find t-shirts all over campus that read, "The University of Chicago: Where the only thing that goes down on you is your GPA," "Where the squirrels are more aggressive than the guys," "Hell really does freeze over," and of course "Where fun goes to die." That's the general atmosphere of the college: while you are surrounded by ridiculously smart and inquisitive people, and are spending the better part of your youth in the library, no one really takes themselves that seriously.

Devin

1. "The squirrels are cuter than the girls and more aggressive than the guys" 2. All people do here is study 3. Intellectual Atmosphere

Tate

The college is filled with socially awkward beings who are frustrated that they have to be kicked out from the library at 10pm on a Saturday night. We're also thought to perform really badly in job interviews, though our admission rate into grad schools are skyhigh. Doesn't that show anything about our interpersonal skills? LOL.

Tim

UChicago students are usually viewed as one of three things: 1. Quirky, intellectual, social misfit types who value broad, rigorous, liberal education, butcare little about, and even look down upon, practical or vocational education 2. Acne-riddled pencil-necks who drool over problem sets and stacks of reading 3. Ambitious gunners who were turned down by the Ivies

Robbie

U of C students are both nerdy and very studious. Frats are frowned upon, even though there are some. Students are extremely socially awkward.

marybeth

David

That U of C students are nerds, anti-social, and physically unattractive. U of C is termed "Where fun comes to die."
