I have found that the academic advising is very frustrating. The advisors that I have dealt with so far are either too busy or don't seem interested in helping with my issues. I had one advisor tell me right from the first time I met her that maybe I shouldn't be in that particular major. I felt like I was being discriminated against because at the time I was overweight.

This school really only give scholorships to the extremly smart students who came in with a high gpa from high school or students who came from a lower middle class family. Coming from a middle class family it is hard to support myself in school and living costs without any financial aide. The school did not give any financial help to me when I came out of high school with a high gpa and a lot of extra curriculars

It is difficult to make friends at this school when you are from out of state, so be very friendly and try to make friends in the dorms. Most of the dorms are very old and almost unlivable. Do your research and try to stay in a newer dorm.

The work load and not being able to feel comfortable with the professors in order to better undestand the material. Their office hours are sometimes held during other classes so you make an appointment but it will be at an inconvenient time. Some professors do not care for the student's progress no matter how much you talk with them about your grades, etc.
