What's the most frustrating thing about University of Arizona?

Quite honestly, I can't think of anything frustrating about my school. I have an amazing advisor, amazing educational opportunities and excellent professors teaching teaching my school's top-ranked M.I.S program! Life is good!

This school has destroyed fraternity life. Unfair punishment to fraternity life. No emphasis on after school employment. 80-90{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of my friends that just graduated (all with exceptional GPA) are jobless and living at home, a terrible service done to these NEW alumni. INCREASINGLY expensive education without JOBS to live on after schooling, lots of school debt without income or immediate future.

Currently we are facing budget cuts and it makes it very difficult to pay bills. I do not feel that the teachers try and help the students pass as well as they could. I say this because the average grade for a particular class could be a C and they do not try to change the way they teach. I feel that if they see there is a problem with thier teaching mechanisms, they should try to alter ther issue.

It takes some practice to get a balanced academic and social life, it is frustrating in the fact that it is a lot of trial and error before you get it just right. At times it might feel as though you are doing nothing at all but studying and that your college life is passing you by and sometimes it might feel as though you have been neglecting your school work or not doing as good on assignments as you know you could have. But it is all a learning experience in and of itself.

Fees are accessed for every little thing, and I don't even use some of the programs. Textbooks are also very expensive.

How much the school emphasizes and values greek life. It is extremely difficult to be an out of state student and make a good group of friends quickly without being in a fraternaty/sorority.

Kathryn

Greek life is really big at my school. Sometimes I feel looked down upon because I'm not part of Greek life. They always have things going on that I can't be included with, which can be disappointing.

Leah

The greek life is overpowering and Tucson is a very low class town with minimum job opportunities and at times very unsafe

I love the weather at the U of A, but because of the huge amount of sunny days, lower tuition than other PAC-10 colleges, and proximity to the beaches of California, it really does attract students that are more interested in partying than learning. So often do you read in the school paper that "X" frat or sorority is being closed due to misconduct and excessive violations. Plus, most drinking altercations and sexual misconduct surround thse groups. I know it sounds like a stereotype, but for the U of A, it's true.

The amount of homework I recieve. I find there is little time to have a social life, although I am able to earn good grades.
